I was so disappointed with Monali Thakur's decision on voting down Shreyasi in RS last night.

MT may think she is an expert but it all showed how good or bad she is as singer when she sang 😡 with Shanker at the end of the show. She could not sing in low scale. She may be good in high notes but she needs to work on her sur when singing low scale songs. Riyaaz. 😉 Fame gets to these young people's head. what a shame. 😳

Right maam, nice to see you back after a looong time. Ameya's story is so heart breaking. But I am so happy that he has not given up and is standing tall despite the odds. Remarkable grit and a sign of true champion, my respect for him has only increased and I hope that others too enjoy his performances.
His ouster was the start of Indian Idol downward spiral trend and after Karunya lost, I stopped watching later II seasons altogether up until S6 when Sriram came and won. Seems that I did not miss much. But by the time of S6, lot of music fans had already left Idol. With a good bunch in S7, I thought Idol redeemed themselves, only to play the same old populist tactics. Shravan's early ouster is a shame.
Also speaking abt Rising star, Shreaysi too was awesome in her SRGMP little champs outing and even now. I too was enraged when Monali voted her down. I am fine with Monali and her success, she probably worked hard for it too, but it does seem that it is getting to her head. I hope that I am wrong abt this and just a mis-judgement on her part. But more so I hope and pray that Ameya, Shravan & even Sriram find lot of success. Something like Arijit got after a long struggle. Will pray for them.

I have been following Rising Star too. While the singers are good, I find the format so bewildering. Yesterday of of two phenomenal contestants one had to go (the singer from Punjab) just because he had 0.05% votes less. That's so unfair! Also Monali voting down Shreyasi was bewildering! They voted up that Sardar Army guy, and he made so many mistakes in his rendition of "Naina thag lenge". Guess he had the public sympathy because of his "vardi" so he got there. But so many deserving ones get knocked out just because they're pitted against equally strong contenders, which is a shame. I don't understand the judges' decisions either. They're pretty erratic and inconsistent. Ameya Date was fantastic when he participated in II2. The years have not been that kind to him. But he's still pretty good. I don't know how he must feel being judges by Monali who was his contemporary. The guy seems pretty grounded though. I skip all backstories on Rising Star and go right to the performances, so I have no idea what happened to Ameya. But I do remember the judges staging a walk-out back when he was eliminated in II2. Where is that outrage? Where is that sense of kinship, that involvement, that feeling of being real mentors to the contestants as if they were their own? I feel the judges are so detached, so clinical, hardly reacting to an elimination, their comments are so mechanical, they seem like monotonous, rehearsed and completely cliched. This Indian Idol started out so promisingly with possibly the best singers in a long time. But it has descended into total mediocrity now. So uninteresting! 👎🏼

Yesterday, Revanth made so many mistakes when he first started "Aashayein", but all were focused on how he took off on that scale change (which he did well, so he was let off the hook). KB's singing is totally flat, yet everyone praised him. Malavika was terrible, she chose the wrong scale and her voice was dead. Rohit also did not impress yesterday. Only Mohit was okay, at least he kept in tune, and did justice to the song. What a disaster II9 has become! The quality, the standard, everything has gone down. I was outraged when the judges decided to use their veto power and not eliminate anyone! Why couldn't they have used this veto power when Shravan was being ousted? Why not for Tajinder? What makes these singers better than them? Why didn't those two deserve a second chance? I'm so salty and disgusted right now. It's always about TRPs and getting a "marketable" face in front of the public! Just reflects the shallowness of the media and of our society as a whole!

I agree with the Monali Thakur scenario. I was shocked when she swiped no. And it looked so obvious when she gave a "Proud" expression when the duo were about to perform. Seconds into their performance she buzzed in. Its like she personally has a problem with Shreyasi. She and Diljit were always the ones to express their disappointment or excitement genuinely. Another thing is the dual with both the singers reaching 92%. I felt Colors should have reconsidered that and kept the latter on hold because he singlehandedly scored more than many that are in top 16.
