Amit Sana's melodious memories!

Amit Sana, the musical idol, is all set to become the next big thing in the musical arena with his brand new album 'Yaadein'. The singer, who shot to fame with a popular musical show, had not suffered any setbacks since then. With a playback career safely on board, Amit Sana is here to rock!

Talking on his latest album 'Yaadein' Sana says, "I feel that my album 'Yaadein' has arrived at the right time, though initially it was planned for release around Diwali. Though what happened wasn't really by design, for I did want an album to come at this time. It has the right kind of feel for this winter season as well as Valentine's Day because if one word can describe it, the word is 'romantic'. This is not a regular album but something that has been put together carefully. Everyone experiences both love and a dark phase at points in life and this is about such feelings. There are three ballads that are especially special to me. There is 'Woh Ho Tum', which is about discovering that special person with whom you want to share your life, and the title-song, which is about the bond of love. I myself was in love with a girl in school and it's about all such memories or Yaadein. My fans will see a certain newness in my voice and singing and I hope that the album and my efforts are appreciated."

So has life got any better since the musical show? "I did record for Anu Malikji in 'Kalyug' and for Rabbi Shergil in 'Delhii Heights' - the song was also a duet with him. I have also sung for two films that have not yet released, a duet with Vasundhara Das for 'Ek Tha Diwana', with music by Ricky, a new music director, and a duet with Kunal Ganjawala in 'The Colour Red', which has music by Santokh Singh. This is my second album and I am extremely busy with my shows that are very popular. I am not into regional music because I want to make a name in the mainstream Hindi arena, which is what gets you widespread fame. The right time to do songs in other languages would be after I make it big in the world of Hindi music," says the singer.

So what does Sana think of the mushrooming TV musical shows? "Music talent hunts are platforms and just make the initial recognition possible. Today there are so many established singers and music composers are comfortable with them because they are versatile and flexible. I am not a classically-trained singer and what I have learnt formally are the technical aspects as well as lessons from life," blurts Sana.

We also wanted to know what's hot and happening on the career front? "Speaking of professional progress, I could have done more albums but a lot of new singers fall into the lure of contracts because of which they often lose out as they cannot take up film offers or work with other companies. I have preferred to steer away from such so-called shortcuts. I am willing to wait for my time to come," signs off Sana.
