performance!!

this is the first time in indian idol that 'performance' has become as important as singing. i don't remember seeing such a focus on 'preformance' before!!

i think we should give the credit to Ankita for raising the standards. now we have the likes of deepali ... charu.... emon and chang trying to add that something extra to their act... be it in their acting or dancing or be it with their costumes...

some (like deepali) have risen to the new challenge and were immdiately rewarded with rave reviews...while others seem to struggle while trying to co-ordinate their singing and acting to perfection... chang for example was most original with the rose in his lapel but his singing seemed to falter as he offered it..

what is your opinion about this??

I totally agree. Even when they showed these contestants in Thursday's fever, they were all busy preparing for performance with the exception of Amit who was shown singing and look at the result; Amit passed this gala with flying colors and could be declared the winner of the same if there ever had to be one. Chang, Emon have faced a decline since the day they started paying more attention to performance or trying to sound like what they are actually not. If they can't balance singing and dancing like Deepali did, they should stick to being a very good singer and who says singing only won't win all those hearts and votes? Amit didn't try any gimmicks with his yesterday performance but still touched countless hearts with a soulful rendition of the song.

Same is the case with Parleen, he is almost always paying more attention to the performance part and has been failing to impress for a considerable span of time now.

Ankita is one of those who do manage to balance their act but she mostly stays behind in the singing department with a few exceptions.
