Will Emon become the next Sandeep?

Nope, I am not talking about Emon becoming the next Indian Idol. Well, his chances looks bright as he's one of the best this season. But its still too early to say for sure.

Anyway,

Last season, we had Sandeep Acharya whose voice and style resembled Udit Narayan. Sonu Nigam commented on the similarities between Udit and Sandeep a lot. Also, he reprimanded Sandeep for always selecting Udit Narayan songs.

Tonight, when Udit said that Emon looked like Sonu and sounded like him too, I couldn't help but think, 'Will history repeat itself?' But instead, it would be the other way around. Emon hasn't selected Sonu songs in the piano round yet so no one can complain. He's shown versatility by singing Kishoreda's O majhi re and Nusrat saab's Piya re. But we know how drama works in such reality shows. Never know. 😕 We're already seeing so much drama ('student' voting, tears, fights) and its just the piano round.

u never know. I hope this year there will be a good solid judgement on choosing the "Idol" and so far Eman is in a good standard...

Like u pointed out urself..tht emon hasn't chosen onli sonu's songs thruout and he doesnot try to immitate sonu consciously....it's just tht his voice is similar to tht of sonu's..but one can see a conscious effort on emon's part to create his own style and stay away frm being labelled..which is a good sign...i mean we already have sonu...we don't need another singer just like him... 😛

I surely want him to be in the top. I think he is very versatile. He sang well in both piano rounds. The best thing I like about him is he puts a lot of soul into his singing, and leaves u wanting for much more. I surely don't want a talented singer like him to go out. 😊

Smita too is one of my fav's in girls. I don't care about her looks...it really does not matter but she has good potential and talent should not go unrecognised. 😛
