u may not have a guruji but u constantly innovate urself thru new techniques and Riyaaz ....

Classical training whether at home or under a guruji helps u to hit right notes in all types of songs...
And after that if u can connect with the audience with ur music then u've hit the bulls eye !!! 😃

Sorry! have to disagree. kumar sanu said 'riyaz" makes things worse!😆😆

The development of a classical singer and a playback singer are totally different..Can u imagine any of the classical music exponents like Pandit Jasraj or Bhimsen Joshi sing Ya ali or bheegi bheegi si???

Way to go bigyo 👍🏼

Oh my dear, don' underestimate these singers at ANY cost !! trust me..
The base of all the songs at any level is some raag, some taal.. and these singers will be able to sing these songs with ease.

There was a telugu superhit movie eons ago (early 80s) called Shankarabharanam in which they talk about this issue. The movie is about a learned classical singer of carnatic music. In that movie, they show a group of young boys harassing him saying that he is old fashioned n can't sing western songs.. n then he sings to them in ease...

I totally blv that..saying that I again stress that just because sum1 learned classical music doesnt make them the best or vice versa, but dont assume that just because they learn classical doesnt mean that they cant sing western. the opp. also applies; just because they learn classical doesnt mean they CAN sing songs like ya ali easily.

learning classical music teaches u some other skills like breath control, knowing how to finish a song etc. Other than that, its all down to ur voice, how pakka of sur are you and how well u can connect with the audience..

that however is in an ideal situation !!

keeping the voting in mind, it does matter how u present urself..

One example of a good singer on the show is Smita. She is trained in classical msic and yet she pulled off a Zubi Zubi so well. Neha tried to do itlast year, and she sounded like a kid !!

also.. Himesh did learn music which is the reason that he can take some notes really well. Hear the songs of Benares. I was in state of shock to hear it..its onyl when he puts his cap and twists the mike he goes cuck coo !!!

and ya.. this is a singing show and a show about performance. Ithink a good performer need not necessarily dance but be able to make others dance, cry, sing etc etc.

one example of good performer is Asha Bhonsle. She doenst dance much, but her voice has so much energy that wants to make us dance.

another good example are penn masala (dunno if u guys have heard of them..megha..forgive me.. u kno me na 😉 ).. hearing them sing live, u will just wanna get up n dance !!! n they dont move an inch from their mikes !

dancing need not be performance or the x factor..its somethign else all together..thts y its called 'x' factor

Someone quoted SPB is not classically trained.. I think he did learn classical when he strted playback singing.. this is what my memory tells me. I think what classical gives you is the control of voice, breath and modulations... It also makes it last long... Classical example is MSS.. no one can deny that...

As to balle balle .. a song you sing when you are not fully listening to music, like a dance floor, parties etc...They are here today but gone tomorrow..

A good song is one which if you listen even when you are all by yourself, you are overtaken by it.. I guess that is why so many songs by Lataji, Rafi Sahaab, Kishoreda, Ashaji are enjoyed longer by one and all even today...

just my 2 cents..
