Rahul Vaidya is a finalist in the Indian Idol talent hunt. This young singer from Mumbai is a trained classical musician under Suresh Wadhkar. He believes in pure and genuine music. Now, Sony BMG goes a step further by giving this young talent to showcase his caliber. He has come out with a new album titled 'Tera Intezaar'. Here is an excerpt from the interview with the young singer.
Excerpts from the Interview:
The audience is expecting a lot from you after the other winners of Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana released their albums. So, what is special about your album?
My music is straight and honest. I don't belong to the bunch of people who portray themselves as more matured than they are. I am 18 and my music is 18. It's about a teenager's dreams, aspirations and desire to fall in love. My songs are about the different genres of love, like its beauty and happiness.
With so many talent hunts taking place in various TV channels, how will you wow the audience that you have something different for them?
The main strength of my album is its melody and simple lyrics. I think melody is an essential element to draw listeners in India. And simple lyrics allow the listeners to sing along to your songs with ease. We worked for six months for the album to ensure that these essentials elements are not missed out.
How was it working with Sajid and Wajid?
It was a dream come true, as I have always wanted to work with them since childhood. I had a great experience working with them. Everybody knows that they have been going great guns in popular music. Melody and their ability to compose catchy tunes have made my album special.
Tell us something about your first single 'Tera Intezaar'?
It tells about the story of a simple boy, who longs to fall in love and fantasizes the beauty and joy it would bring. It is the longing for someone special to come into his life.
What is your opinion on the remix albums that repeats the same old songs again and again?
Critics are coming down heavily on remix albums left, right and center. But you need lots of caliber to do a remix, as it has to sound better than the original. So, it ultimately increases the quality of the product. It also gives a platform to the budding artistes to showcase their talents.
