Not to forget there used to be crazy lyrics back in 60s-70s too. - I'm no music "pundit"...but i would say that music has changed a lot thru time....thru out the world and so too in India...It has definitely not detoriated...standard of lyrics on the other hand is definitely going down....

2. Should contestants have X factor or talent alone is enough?

This is highly debatable...especially in the present scenario where maximum exposure is thru the "Visual" media....so I would consider 75% Talent & 25% X-Factor....
