A rumour doing the rounds was that Abhijeet Sawant, the first Indian Idol, had signed a movie and was all set to launch his career as a film star.What added credibility to the rumour was fellow-contestant Amit Tandon's success as Manthan in Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. When the singer was contacted, we were told he was out of town doing shows. However, on contacting his manager, it was found that the rumour was just that -- a rumour.
"Abhijeet is concentrating on his singing career and has not signed any film," was all his manager had to say.
