OMG, i just rea the articlke whr the judges have taken an u-turn,

wenever there used 2 be any threads dis-agreeing with the judges i use 2 support them. today ive realised that all those ppl whr true, i can understand the frustration they must have gone trough.

all thats i can say now is ive really lost respect for there comments, how can they just say exactly the opposite of wat they have said till now, dont they understand that ppl do remember all this, they are making a mockery out of themselves.

im very deeply disappointed, i always used 2 keenly watch out for the judges comments bcoz i respected there experience in the field... but today not just as a karunya fan but more importantly as a music fan i feel very let down by their comments.

judges pls rember that u cant do any nautanki u want & get away. today u have played with the feelings of millions of genuine music lovers

BTW this is wat the judges had said & my comments along side:

Judge Farah Khan said that Sandeep had come a long way. "I still remember the first day of the competition. He walked in with a long kurta and lots of oil in his hair."

Sonu Nigam added, "But with in that awkward appearance, ek sone jaisi awaaz thi." And Anu Malik opined, "Sandeep took the harsh comments constructively and worked on all his grey areas. I think Karunya had this notion that he's already there."

ofcouse u guya made him feel that he was the indian idol, mr.malik pls rem tht u told him in the 2nd gala itself tht he was the nxt indian idol

"Indian Idol was never about singing only or else Karunya would have won over Sandeep. Unlike Karunya, Sandeep connected with the audience," said Nigam.

karunya didnt connect with the audience, wat abt the idol song, which u called as magical, for which all u judges cried

Malik agrees with Nigam saying that Sandeep was a package of good singing, humility and charm.

Farah smiled, "I think I was brought into this competition mainly because the channel knows that I have it in me to pick a star — the person who has the potential to be a super entertainer and popular with the opposite sex. Sandy is just that."

farah pls dont make it a mr.personality show, popular with the opposite sex? OMG wats this is it a match making show?Pls appreciate sandeep atleast now for his singing skills, hes gonna be singing, not attracting girls

I posted this on the thread checks started 'judges changing homes'. Am reposting here fyi:

I read this and was more outraged by this unnecessary face-saving than by the results. I voted for Karunya but fair enough, this is how Indian Idol works, Sandeep is very likeable and it is hard to begruge him his moment, and it is true that Karunya's talent will be hard to hide or forget so that down the line this will be an irrelevant result for him....

BUT where is the need for the three judges to now try and justify this result.

We have on the record, what all of them said (their superlatives, their 'I will vote for', their claims that they prayed...) and we can accept that like each of us they also cannot control the outcome.

Why then should they make it sound like there was something the matter with Karunya? Anu Malik suggested that he was overconfident--I doubt it, but I must also ask, if you have that sort of talent and you have ears, musicality and half a brain, you must know that you are blessed and what kind of silly, pointless morality is it to deny that? Sonu Nigam has said this is not just a singing contest; fine but Karunya can dance, emote, sing and is personable... so what's the catch here? As for Farah Khan, she is at least somewhat consistent and has always supported Sandeep.

What is, is. And all of us, not least Karunya, will move on. But I am quite irritated but these quotations from the judges--do they think we have no memory at all? There was no need to make the comment about Sandeep winning a comment about Karunya at all.

* A suggestion to the producers from someone who watches with me: perhaps this should now be Sony Idol (like Close-up Antakshari or whatever) and then we will not have to worry about who is seeking or voting along regional or communal lines.
* And my response to what these contests are really about: a profound celebration of mediocrity so that we can all feel comforted that it is okay, even winning, to be mediocre. We don't have to stretch ourselves to find and exceed the limits of our capacity because the bar is so nicely reachable and our idols (in all spheres) are right about where we can reach without exertion.

Sorry for the rant. I was and am fine with the result. I am just disgusted by the judges' reactions.

I didnt like the way treated Karunya as well, the reward for runner-up was even shitty, he was definitely worth more than that. Hope Anu Malik will give him chance in future for singing as he promissed.
