Karu gave the Title away to Sandeep

Hi all,

Just came back today from my business trip and was really disappointed to see the song selection by my dearest Karu.

Farah adviced Sandeep not to go offnote and make it easy for Karu to win, but I think on the contrary Karu made the poorest of song choices and made Sandy's path very very easy to victory.

OMG how boring both songs are

Jahan teri yeh nazar hai( compare that with the energetic, dekha na hai re by Sandy)

and

Jhanak jhanak -- I think he wanted to pick a classic number and impress, well mannade couldn't impress with this song, how can Karu?

I now believe Karu has given the Indian Idol crown to Sandy on a platter by his song choice and didn't give himself a choice of winning. Loyal fans are going vote anyway, but the volatile votes which change based on the perf on a specific Gala may now go to Sandy.

What do you guys think?

I think no matter how well karunya has rendered his classically based songs the audience dont seem to agree with the judges. The audience seems to be more voting on the song's popularity. Sandeep also gives the image of a small town boy becoming successful rather than karunya who already has got a 'star' aura around him, and knowing indian audiences( read dhoni), their votes will be directed more towards sandeep. Karunya on sur alone deserves to win the title, but the overall likeability factor which is so essential for a performer to have is missing somewhere. This is just my opinion though..

Well to certain extent I agree with you, junta votes for popular numbers 'cause they enjoy listenening to them.

Who will listen to jhanak jhanak, I listened just now and it was boring even in the voice the grea Manna dey, the other song, the less said the better!

I always thought karunya is a better singer but i think if looked upon as an overall package sandeep is good. Don't loose hope because anything can happen. May the best man win!

i mean karu is an excellent singer...he's got everything it takes

but sandy paji has improved alottt!! and he has a likable personality...he's got a huge fan following

itz my gut feeling sandy will win....i had this gut feelin on march 13th that amey wud be out

but i may be rong this time...letz c wat happens

Yes and Karu chose the most unimpressive songs.

Karu was getting saved everytime, because he mostly chose popular numbers. He once chose boring number(kambaqt ishq) but survived and survived even B n B. But no one can make these two songs sound interesting.

They are such boring numbers.

Kishore da must've been sleepy when he sang that number and manna dey must've had a bad day!

harsh dont say that...u have supportred karu the entire show... and now he is onto the finals ....this time he really needs our support....he is an excellent singer and will always remain excelleny....even i hav e supported karu ........so best of lucj karunya......u r our indain idol now!!!!!

I like the song Jhanak Jhanak. Knowing Karu's classical music background, I'm sure he'll do fine with the song. No reason why he has to sing it like the original. He may improvise on the original. Amey sang Lagaa much faster than the original, which may have made it more appealing and catchy. 😕 He did justice to the song and was super-safe that week. The song may be more popular than Jhanak Jhanak though but still, the public is unpredictable. Never know what they'll vote for- singing, song selection, personality, looks!

Hi Prayas,

I still support him, don't get me wrong, he is an excellent singer and I am sure he must've done full justice to the song.

But all I am saying is that he chose songs that are so boring that even if he sings good, may not appeal to the junta.

I still want him to win, I still root for him and will continue to support him even after II2, but am very disappointed that he chose such poor songs.
