"Kabhi Neem Neem
Kabhi Shahad Shahad
Kabhi Naram Naram
Kabhi Sakht
Mora Piya Mora Piya Mora Piya
Nazron Ke Teer
Mai Basa Hai Pyar
Jab Bhi Chala Hai Wo Dil Ke Paar…"
Anu Malik (to the contestant) : "Tumne toh suron ka kachra kar diya." (You screwed up the notes).
The confident smile slightly fades away from Jolly's face. Other judges tell her that although her performance wasn't as bad as Anu Malik suggested, but she could have definitely done better.
A "slightly" disappointed Jolly walks back to her mark. The other contestants feel she would find it tough to get into the next round because her performance wasn't up to the mark.
The next episode commences and with it the result time. Jolly springs in a surprise by making it to the top four. But that's not enough to make it to the galas. She has to make it to the top three. The first two positions are filled in and the two contestants left are – Jolly and Jyotsna.
Jyotsna was the unanimous choice of the judges. In fact, Farah expressed her anger over Jyotsna not being the number one choice of the audience. Nonetheless she was confident that Jyotsna would sail through.
Aman Verma and Mini Mathur announce the result. Jolly knocks out Jyotsna to enter the galas (against all hopes) and bursts into tears of joy.
Anu Malik comments, "Jyotsna, I must tell you, today I have lost my Indian Idol and I am sure the audience would also realize, they too have lost an Indian Idol." Jolly finds no support at all from any of the judges, as Sonu and Farah even refuse to comment on her entry into the next stage.
Jolly tells Anu that she would prove it to him that she is a good singer and deserves to be there. Anu replies, "Mere kaanon ko tum besuri lagee. Agar janta ko lagta hai ki tum taal mein theee toh… (gives a hopeless expression)."
Jolly feels gloomy on being left alone by the judges, but is determined nevertheless to prove it to them that she deserved to progress into the next round. She tells Anu Malik yet again, "In the next round I'll prove it you…".

The judges say that she is the weakest of the entire top 12 contestants and is lucky to be among them. The fact of the matter is that Jolly definitely isn't as bad as Anu Malik & other judges have made her out to be and definitely deserved words of encouragement from them rather than a step-child treatment.
My message to Jolly would be to not get disheartened by what the judges said and maintain faith in her ability, since it's her sheer talent which has seen her through till this point. She has it in her to make adversity a stepping-stone to success and come out triumphs against all odds.
She is a very good singer. She has reasonably good looks. But what has impressed me the most about this young lass is her "never-say-die" spirit. She was considered down and out, but yet she managed to march into the next phase. She took criticism remarkably well. She was disappointed by the judges' remarks but not disheartened and was eager to prove a point.
And it's this fighting quality of her that makes her, the perfect candidate for Indian Idol. After all, Indian Idol is not just about singing, it's about being an idol, a role model that others can look up to for inspiration…
I have found my "Indian Idol" and would give her full-fledged support with tons of votes.
And it's my appeal to all of you to "please please please vote for her and let the crown of Indian Idol adorn a deserving head…"
