Performance as important as singing: Farah Khan

Bollywood film director and choreographer Farah Khan has said that both performance and singing are equally important for success in any television talent hunt show.

"Talent hunt programmes like 'Indian Idol' are not purely based on singing talents. You need to be an equally good performer on stage," Khan said.

She is currently in the national capital to promote Sony Entertainment Television's (SET) popular reality show - Indian Idol-II.

Khan said the 12 finalists of the show have enough talent to go ahead but have to better their stage performances.

On Monday, five of the 12 finalists - Ravi Tripathi, Sagar Arun Sawarkar, N.C. Karunya, Monali Thakur and Neha Kakkar - performed here.

"We all believe that stage performance can influence the final result and is one of the key ingredients in attracting more audience votes," said Neha Kakkar, a student from Delhi.

The talent hunt show, second in a series from SET, started in November this year and will see the final round in April.

Khan judges the show along with Sonu Nigam and Anu Mallik.
