Shree Kumar | ||
With his father being a professional classical vocalist, it was almost destined that Shree Kumar would follow in his footsteps. Music had him under her spell right from the days he was a kid. Having learnt Carnatic Classical and Hindustani Classical music, Shree Kumar is currently undergoing training in voice culture in Mumbai and aggressively preparing himself for the big nights at Indian Idol. A self-confessed introvert, the Trissur-born 23-year-old likes to spend time all by himself. Watching movies with friends and playing computer games are his other pas-times. Once he overcomes his coyness and gets comfortable with someone, he is willing to go to any extent to fulfill his commitment towards his friend. Shree Kumar's music system is another regular companion and is always on in the background. Carnatic Music and Hindustani Classical compositions and Ghazals are his favourites. Film songs and fusion music also excite him, but not as much as pure classical music, which he feels is the foundation on which any music form in the world is based. Yesudas, Sonu Nigam and his father are Shree Kumar's favourite singers. His favourite song is: "Ae Chand Tujhe Chandni Ki Kasam" from Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya. |
