anyways coming back to dis topic.Rakesh fan hopefully u wont jump on my for saying dis but umm hmm yeah for me Rakesh is a gud singer but yet not d deserving one for d veto power.Yes!Definet i didnt wanna see him go home b4 swaroop n Bhoomi but when it comes to such a power i guess judges should have save it for contestant like Shivam,Shreeram.or if dey had to use i wonder y dey didnt do dat 4 Shashi? hmm..anyways now i can see an disaster elimination in uncoming week n top n best contender goona be out of d show .Its been d history of such reality show:S

Yeah I agree about Shashi or Vishwas (who didn't even get a chance despite singing exceptionally well at that level)...it is a pity they didn't use it sooner...but I'd rather they used it at this stage to save Rakesh than someone like say Swaroop.... the disaster elimination is inevitable since the judges would have lost veto power anyway after top 5 (whether they used it or not)....

hmm ok so dey would have unable to use d veto power after TOP 5?In dat case i cant blame Rakeshj or cant curse him 4getting such a valuable chance as he less deserving in my eyes for such a lifeline thing..but i would surely blame judges for doing dis..Y on earth dey didnt use it for Shashi n yes even Vishwas dat guy's elimination was a shocker..I saw him singing wid Twinkle in SAREGAMAPA -ek main aur ek tu.d guy is a exceptional singer.. n so is shashi i mean come on mere piya ghar aya singing such songs its not so easy..😕Dis show is so scripted man..im sure among Rakesh n Bhoomi some 1 goona win dis season while singers like Shivam-sreeram goona be out(though i hope i prove wrong)😳

great post and good topic to discuss...i felt they should have not used veto right now and saved next elimination, that way Sreeram and/or Shivam one of them atleast in finale...

I think the whole episode was scripted.... if you have watched the American and Australian editions of Idol, the rule states that the judges have to use the veto by the final 5...otherwise, they lose that right...if it was not used this week, they would not have got the chance after that....its a pity they didnt use it sooner for other talents like Vishwas, Shashi or Naushad.....but having said that, I think Rakesh fully deserved the veto...especially since there are others who deserve to leave the show before him... in any case, veto is the same as wildcard.....you can think of veto as an instant wildcard...

This was all part of a scripted episode to bring in the "All IZ WELL" theme and also to push fans to vote even harder for their favourites and generate more revenue for the channel and get more high paying ads for the breaks because of all the increased viewership due to this nonsensical drama...

I don't think Rakesh had the lowest votes.... to have maximum effect, they would need to put one of the top contenders in the spotlight....fans of Shreeram are already voting a lot....they just wanted someone whose votes they can push up for the finale.... most polls predict a Shreeram/Rakesh finale....so Rakesh was an intelligent choice.... just my two cents...I could be wrong...

See the thing is it was never mentioned in II that the Veto power needs to be used before top5, I know American Idol has that rule, but for II this is the first time they have this power and they should have clearly stated the rules for this power. And first of all stupidly reminding a day before it was gonna get used, do they really think that public will accept any crap 😡😡

I agree....this was not explicitly stated.....but can someone please help me understand the difference between this veto power and the wild card entry everybody is talking about on this forum? They sound the same to me...just that in this case, the reprieve was immediate...

Mixed feelings... I was wishing him to see in top 3 but. not at expense of other somewhat versatile singers.

Simple. One is used to keep a talented person (in judges' opinions) from eliminating. The other is to bring one of the eliminated contestants back.

So what if they had said it was a wild card entry and brought Rakesh back next week? 😉 Would that make it different?

I believe that the veto is used rightly at the right time. Let the public take one more close look at the top 5. Using veto to save Shriram would not only make the judges look stubborn, it would be a conflict of interest too considering the recent signing of Sreeram with Salim-Suleman.
