If judges are surprised and pained at Shashi's elimination why was their veeto power not invoked ?
Because they know that other good singers are also under danger from the audience's baises, e.g. Shivam. They'd probably rather save their veto for later in the game.
This is the same audience that made Anu Malik what he is today - so what is he cribbing about ?
No this is not the audience that made Anu Malik. The audience that made Anu Malik/Sunidhi Chauhan/Salim Merchant are the music lovers who go out and buy CD's and casettes or download songs. That is how all three of these have been top-selling artists.
But the audience that kicks out Shashi but keeps Tia is just a voting audience. Once Indian Idol is over, what happens to their support? Why have none of the winners (except the first, Abhijeet) not realeased a single successful album? What happened to all that support that won them II? The fact is, those who vote in the show are not the same music lovers that go and make musicians successful.
TIA may not be the best singer in the top 10 but she has been wrongly belittled by Sunidhi Chauhan and also her co contestants. This is inexcusable - Judges should encourage participants to bring out the best in them rather than cut them down.
Wrongly belittled? She was told that her sur was bad. Which is true. And that too on the easiest of songs. In fact, you can see a growing frustration on the judges' part as Tia keeps progressing in the competition, but shows no improvement in sur/throw/range. Instead of improving, or promising to improve, Tia just comes up with excuses.
This is a TV reality show not a radio programme. Audience votes with their ears, eyes, hearts and minds and that is why TIA gets a huge number of votes. Now If only the judges stop playing favorites will the audience vote as it should.
What do you mean? The judges love all the contestants. They brought these contestants to the gala. But that doesn't mean they won't criticise bad singing. Especially when the singing is consistently bad.
And what does 'audience vote as it should' - are you accepting that the audience is not, as of now, voting as it should?
