Round 2: Richa Sharma

Richa ji has such a powerful voice. Its different from others and just has a very different touch to it! I agree with Varsha di. I like the other Lambi Judaii. But I won't go judging the song, I will judge only Richa ji. I thought she could have brought more feel and emotion to the song, since it sounds like a very sad one. I connected with her, but I wish I could have really connected with her a lot more. She did a good job using some good variations.

Overall I really enjoyed her song from "Taal" better. I feel so wasn't her best with this song, and sadly I can't give her a high enough rating for this song. Taking everything into consideration I'd give her a solid 7. Nice attempt though!

Great singing once again by Richa Sharma!

She did a good job throughout. The high notes were once again very well done. That's definitely a strength. The rest I'll say was good. And it wasn't great or anything, but she did a good throughout. Her voice quality isn't as good as some of the others here, though it's still good.

I think she did have great expressions in her voice, and did sing many areas with the feel. Though the music didn't really sound like sad music.


Overall, nice job singing, though the voice quality wasn't that great, the high notes were excellent, bringing her back to a good level.

Wow, this song was great! Her transitions were flawless!!! Her tune was perfect, and everything was just as it was expected! I give her a 10!

Did not enjoy this as much as shilpas

thought this was a sad song, parts of the song are a little touchy, gives a feeling of longing, but some of the lines like the very first line the way it is sung gives me a very sarcastic feel

I gave her a 7, for singing and voice. Initially she sounds a bit laboured, but picks up as the song progresses and tries to give her best in terms of pitching, but does fall just a bit short of perfection. I mean her voice felt a bit tiring in this track, could have been more of joshila.

Nice track!

The singing is quite different from her earlier song. The voice is soothing. However, there is nasality here as well in parts. There is not much passion in the expression, just in the middle alaaps there is a certain expressive mode adopted by the singer. It was not effortless singing; a consistent strain in the voice could be felt by me. I couldn't connect with the song, sorry to say. Apologies to all Richa fans.

My score would have been not be more than 6 out of 10 for this song, but for the excellent alaaps, I would like to give an extra mark, so my score sums up to 7 out of 10.

Wow! Great singing by Richa Sharma. She seems to have sung this through pursed lips which is why you get that soft voice projection (oh wait - then she kicks in with her ad lib in the background!). I think her soft voice is jus a bit too pursed - could have been open yet soft!

I love the way Richa thinks about the lyrics and sings accordingly. This is the best-emoted song of this round in my opinion. It must really help that she has a varied mix of musical influences, so she can draw on different ways of rendering words.

Richa also had some of the most challenging sequences in this round. Her ad libs required throw, pitching, control, emotion and she had it all. Great track and very good singing. It's a 9/10 on the difficulty scale but Richa didn't sing her soft portions well enough in my opinion to justify it fully. But what the heck, it's closer to 9 than to 8, so I'll make it a 9/10!
