Ismail DARBAR is a genius. Hats off!

Shreya had the most spectacular debut in Hindi film music ever in Devdas. And what a cracking song this was - please send good wishes to Ismail DARBAR for giving us such a wonderful song. I'm lucky enough to have the original CD of this album so I can listen to the song in all its glory. 😃

The song on its own is worth a 9 in terms of vocal prowess. It has the high notes and the harkats and languishing tunes. Shreya, with her carefully honed skills is a master of the tune. But her voice is much more one dimensional and hollow as compared to what it is these days. And expression is just a bit lacking for my preference. Of course, I'm being extremely picky here. But we're separating amazing from amazing so I have to be picky. The singing is on par with Kavita's song. So 8/10.

Awesome!!!! Mindblowing!!!! I am speechless!!! Everything was in symphony with the background music, it was like a plesure trip, if you know what I mean. Not even one note went wrong. I give her a 10!!!

9 from my side.

Shreya was superb but I think Ismail Darbar's music had a big hand in creating the overall effect this song has. Back to singing, Shreya had most of her singing on almost the same notes, while the intermediary music gave us a better range of notes thus adding that extra 20 cents to the overall effect.

My sincere apologies to Shreya, her fans, and her gurus/masters if anything I say comes out to be offensive.

Shreya broke all records (in my opinion) by her debut song. This girl has so much sincere and dedicated talent and by sure has come a very long way. I can hardly point out any flaws in her singing for this song. Every note was in tune. She knew everything about the right 'taal', 'sargam', and 'raag.' Truly a masterpiece. It was a magical and flawless performance.

Shreya is the first singer in this competition that has forced be to break my rule of not giving anyone a 10. I truly think that giving her a 9 is not fair considering that she really has outdone herself with this song. And since 9.5 is not an option, I just can't stop myself from giving her the 10! 👏
