deepali can be a good host..but she must be busy with her television show.

I think that singers should remain singers and not try to take other roles. It is strange to see the winner of Indian Idol 1 to come out and host a season, it destroys the whole claim-to-fame concept of Indian Idol. Similarly, Prajakta is too mellow to do this hosting thing, according to me, she should do what she is good at, that is of-course singing.

I think they chose Abhijeet and Prajakta because the producers wanted the cast of the show to be full of musicians! And of course, ex-contestants can understand the new batch of contestants more easily.

I think Abhijeet's hosting is not upto scratch - he seems forced and unnatural in front of the camera.

But I loved Pajakta - she has a great voice and delivers her lines with confidence. Matching up to Mini Mathur is not an easy task, though!

Anyway, it seems like both Abhijeet and Prajakta will be kicked out and Hussain brought in. However, it would have been nice to have a co-anchor with Hussain - it adds more chemistry!

i loved Hussain and Mini as the hosts..Abhijeet and Prajakta lack somewhere for me....

I prefer Hussain and Mini, don't see abhijeet as a good host

definitely they need some time but so far they r doing good...yeah mini and hussein were fab...let's see aage kya hota hai😉😛

Hussain and Mini were obviously excellent as hosts, they added a little spunk of their own to the show. Last year, Chang (surprisingly) made a good pair with Hussain, and they were able to carry off the show with the right amount of grace. On the other hand, having Deepali on board as host went down the drain and was quite a disappointment during auditions.

So far, Abhijeet and Prajakta seem fine. Abhijeet is a nice, sweet guy ... and his simplicity seeps through not matter what he does. Prajakta is also doing fine, but sometimes hits a few nerves here and there. Obviously they aren't professionals, and we need to give them time to improve.

However, once the gala rounds start and the show 'really' starts, we need a proper, professional host. Having past contestants host isn't going to cut it anymore. It worked out for Chang, but it does not mean it'll work for everyone as well. I think a host is really important to the show because it brings the show more credibility. Ryan Seacrest has been hosting American Idol for all its seasons now, it gives the show a little oomph, a little something to look forward to.

And I hate seeing ex-contestants as mere hosts in the show, ESPECIALLY the first Idol himself, it makes it seem like there's not room for progress, no way to go onto bigger and better things and the contestants are just stuck to this platform, without any external success. And although that may be true, Indian Idol producers could do a little better to save their image.
