Well said. The only thing with SRGMP is that it seems to have lost its charm and credibility a bit too. If you have been watching the show since the time it was hosted by Sonu, you'd see the charm has been lost. You dont get classical singers like Lataji or legandary music directors like O P Nayyar coming on the show.

Instead you get mockery by having Himesh and the rest who keep giving everyone history. And crowd pullers like Asma for gaining publicity.

Not that II is much better. I dont see a single reason to why Sonali Bendre is on the show. IMO Javed is the only decent judge.

And i dont see the reason for all the glam. If you want glam watch a fashion show. You want proper sur watch a singing contest!

That is very frustrating, don't you think!!! That is the primary beef with II. The most deserving singer does not win. In fact this year the difference between the best (Rajdeep) and the second best (take your pick) was so big that you wonder whether the audience is completely tone deaf or heartless. Reminds me of an old joke about one time English football team. The team composition:

Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish,Rubbish,Rubbish,Rubbish,Rubbish,Linekar,Rubbish,Rubbish.

Substitute that with II4 and you have a good idea of this year. (Now don't split hairs, I do not mean everybody was Rubbish).

Regarding who gets what song to sing. Bollywood is a very difficult place to get a chance unless you are from a filmy family and then you get chance after chance. So the one who succeeds may not be the best singer but the one in the right place in the right time.

Liked the car with AC analogy. The corollary is it is very easy to put an AC than getting the car to run. So why doesn't ZEE do the simple steps right (fire and replace the set designer, costume designer, just fire Himesh since he is irreplaceable) because year after year it is able to do the difficult step (choosing the best singer, dancer and groom their talents) correctly.

I don't need a list. I've heard the singers of all four seasons. Some are good when compared to the rest of the II contestants but no where near the talent that we find in SRGMP. Bhanu was not a good singer IMO. No one in idol has lost sur? 😕 Yes they have. Maybe you can hear it if you stop observing how good they look.

I personally luved Ishmeet singh, and there's not one judge, one person from the music industry, who thinks he wasn't worthy of the title, i guess mine and ur opinion will not match, i feel that SRGMP has lost its charm completely, and its gone pretty D-grade, they have fun calling astrologers, and creating stupid visual effects on ghosts and stuff, i find it really very lame!

I loved him too...as a person. As a singer he wasn't the best though. But definitely better than the idol singers. Yup SRGMP has lost charm but II had no charm to begin with...apart from Sonu.

Only season 1 of II was popular...all other seasons were flop. SRGMP only the most recent season was flop...others were hit.

Anyways you can have your opinion too. But I won't change mine, and I have the right to state it. If I don't like the singers I will say that I don't like them. If you're allowed to put down the SRGMP show and say you don't like its singers why cry foul when I do the same for II? If they're besure I will say they are besure. It's a public forum and we're here to express our opinions. It's (supposed to be) a musical show...if we don't discuss sur and singing talent of the singers then what else do we discuss? And I can choose which (and how many) forums to be on myself!
