The crooner to have a Feb wedding

Kailash Kher ties the knot with mass media student Sheetal Bhan next month. The marriage ceremony is slated for February 28 and will be held in Khandala.

The Allah Ke Bande crooner is keeping his big day extremely low-key as he lost his dad recently. His Delhi-based father, a panditji had desired to see his son wed soon and had even thought of the marriage date as a result the singer is fulfilling his father's wish.

A private affair

Sources close to Kailash, who is also a judge on Indian Idol 4 say, "Though the family is in mourning and no such event would be held for at least a year, the family feels Kailash has to honour his dad's commitment.

That's why he wants his wedding to be a very small affair."

It is learnt that only the immediate family folk from both sides and members of his band Kailasa will be present at the simple ceremony.

Kailash maintains, "I am not at all comfortable talking about my personal life."

However sources add, "Sheetal is not into music or singing. She is studying for a mass media degree at SIES College, Sion, and is in the final semester. It was Kailash's mother and sister who first met her and took an instant liking to her.

They later introduced her to Kailash and things just went right for the couple. Both the families then met and fixed the marriage date."

It is also learnt that Sheetal comes from a Kashmiri Pandit family and is related to film director and social activist Ashoke Pandit.

Kailash is extremely busy with his playback singing and shows besides judging Indian Idol, whose finale will be just around his wedding.

But the singer will shoot for the show and then head for his wedding just like Farah Khan, who was also a judge on Indian Idol, when she had wed Shirish Kunder.
