Boys Vs Girls.

I enjoyed the episode. Song selection was good.

Shivam perfomed really well. Although I think he forgot lyrics in between. Senjuti was excellent too. Shivam won.

Rishi and Bidipta both were good. I personally liked Rishi more but Bidipta won.

Chirag and Deboshmita. Here I loved both the performances, Chirag sounded really beautiful today. And Deboshmita just nailed it. She won.

Sonakshi and Navdeep. It was clearly one sided for me. Sonakshi was just awesome. For Navdeep, no comments. Anushka or Kavya deserved to be in his place.

I really liked that the girls won and not the usual music is the winner thing.

Boys Vs Girls

Shivam Vs Senjuthi :- both sang well esp considering both were tough songs. This face-off was good since both have good techniques & voice control. Shivam was better than senjuthi & rightfully won.

Rishi Vs Bidipta :- These days I find Rishi mechanically belting out arijit numbers, he is still good, but not as it used to be. Bidipta did well. Bidipta winning over Rishi itself is a telling on Rishi’s rendition. He needs to come out of Arijit zone & explore other genres. Hopefully, today we can see the old Rishi, going by the promos.

Chirag Vs Debo :- Chirag was the surprise packet of the evening. The Julie number was just apt for his voice, and he was awesome. One of his bests in this season. MBD well-deserved. Debo was phenomenal This was the best rendition of Tujhse naraz in any reality show after Amanat Ali’s in srgmp. It was beautiful. 👌. Worth a repeat. Not surprisingly Debo won.

Navdeep Vs Sona :- The most easiest face-off according to me. A beautiful rendition of Beete na by Sona that easily stood out over navdeep’s. Going by the Wadali fixation of the judges, I feared that Navdeep will score over Sona. So relieved that she won. 👍
The final result proved the caliber of the girls which is unique in this season. 👍.

Asides….

* Desperate measures 🙄😡 :- Rishi with face smeared in flour. a la the cake episode from boys Vs girls of Idol 12. Seriously ,when will they get it into their heads that Ridipta is not & cannot be Arudeep??

* That was one weird dress by Kriti as someone had pointed out. Fear of a wardrobe malfunction loomed large in my mind when she took steps & when Kartik lifted her… me & my faint heart! 😱😁

Overall a good episode. For me the evening belonged to Debo, Shivam & Sona in that order.

Dharmendra - Mumtaz Special...

It was Dharmendra 3rd appearance this season so I was not much excited for this episode but thankfully the focus was mostly on Mumtaz and that's why the episode turned out really good. Seems she enjoyed being there.

Girls are just rocking this season. All 4 deserved to be in the finale. Loved all their performances. Disappointing that they didn't show Bidipta's 2nd song.

Among boys Shivam was best closely followed by Rishi.

Chirag and Navdeep were strictly average in my opinion.

Duet was really good. Their voices go along very well.

Next week will be Valentine's Special most probably. I am wondering what the makers will do.

Bring Arudeep?🤣 Coz focusing on RiDipta isn't gonna do much.

Rishi Bidipta r good looking but they don't have the charm n innocence of Arudeep..that slight awkwardness too.

Dharmendra Mumtaz special

Chirag :- expected a lot from him going by Saturday’s performance, but it was just okayish. The second song was better than the first.

Sonakshi :- What a song & what a rendition! Not much attempted in reality shows, Allah Ye Ada was superbly sung by Sona. This girl is peaking up at the right time. She was so under-rated, but you can no longer ignore her. She deserved MBD

Shivam :- Aaj mausam & Ye Reshmi julfein. Both songs were rendered wonderfully. Couldn’t help missing vineet.
Senjuthi :- Do boondh & duniya mein logon ki. Loved the performances,

Debo :- Another awesome performance, esp the second song. 👍
Rishi :- Glad to see glimpses of the old Rishi. Enjoyed his performance. Did justice to the song.

Navdeep :- with or without makeover it is the same story. He doesn’t deserve to be in the top 8.
Asides :-

* TCT , pl give Lifetime Achievement Award to Dharamji & make him retire from Idol. 🙏.
* Mumtaz was a refreshing change - candid & bubbly.
* These girls have put me in a quandary - while I had started with senjuthi as my fav, now I am veering more towards Sona & Debo. Shivam is consistent as ever. Rishi needs to up his act. Chirag is... just there; & Navdeep is , well…. ‘ oh, he is there?!’

I watched today after a very long time. Missed Chirags performance.

The others sang pretty well. Was disappointed with Navdeep - sounded like a nursery rhyme!
