Should Idol 12 be extended?

There are unconfirmed reports that Idol 12 has been given an extension as Sony is unable to shoot for the Kapil Sharma Show. I have not seen an official announcement from Sony, there was one in Season 10.

If the show is extended, presumably it will be shot at Daman. Very few guests will make it to Daman and judges will drop off every now and then.

Would it be possible to keep all these contestants / team in a bio bubble for two more months? knowing that even the IPL bubble was breached!

Plus most contestants have one single desire when they apply for Idol - exposure. Almost all want to showcase their skills as potential playback singers. With the season so deep already and contestants singing 3-4 songs per weekend all the showcasing that was possible is done and dusted!

If any one of them is a talent that the industry needs they will one day get a call based on what they have already presented. So the urge to continue full-heartedly will ebb, as will the quality of the performances. Fatigue is also an overwhelming factor.

Plus this Powerplay thing can't just go on meaninglessly. And they need more than 9 to run for 2 more months. Will they start expanding with wildcards? I hope not.

In my opinion this season will go very stale if it drags beyond May. What do you think?

Don't know but since this season has been such a great success it deserves a fitting end, a real grand finale. But unfortunately this is not possible in these situations.

End the show and send the contestants home. Winner will probably be either Pawandeep or Arunita anyways especially since last week they were revealed as the top 2 vote getters.

Oh pls enough bakwaas already sony had given to us this season..just send those contestants to their family safely ..want their safety.

No don’t want extension. Otherwise we will have same guests coming again and their songs being repeated.

As soon as power play finishes which hopefully should be anytime now, then semifinal weekend and elimination of 4 or 5 contestants. Then following weekend finale.

What about the high TRP's that this show is generating will Sony kill it's golden goose? The contestants have nothing to lose, they will be more at risk in their states with rising cases and will be locked in , Bollywood unites this country like nothing else and the public is enjoying it barring a few which hardly makes a difference, show will continue .

The season should not be extended beyond May. Already the contestants look very tired and they have lost their focus. They have been used as the TRP drivers for the channel, no meaningful signing competition is left for them.

Sony should end the show and if necessary they can request the participants to join a new musical show in any other form, not in the idol.
