I listened to PD’s cousin Priyanka’s IV on YouTube. She stated that PD’s nani (Moms’s mom) was a famous singer in Uttarakhand. Her name was Kabootari Devi and she passed away 2-3 yrs ago.
I had to google her name as I had not heard of this before. Sure enough, she was a very well known Uttarakhand singer. No wonder his mom sings so well. I always thought the singing comes from his dad’s side who is a singer but hadn’t heard of his Nani being a locally famous singer.

I didn’t hear the IV properly then.
But still a close connection.

PS: I listened to Priyanka’s IV again and she clearly said Pawan ki Nani. I saw a YouTube video of Nani’s shradhanjali and you can see PD’s mom there and his dad sang some song too.
