So if Nachiket got more scores than other contestants, then obviously Danish was one of the top scorers. They couldn’t put any of the low scoring contestants at the bottom because then they would not have been able to evict Nachiket and so they put Danish in the the bottom???

Can be interpreted as such. Going to the bottom is based on marks. Elimination is more complicated.

There may be also a matter of weight that marks carry in the final result ( that is not made clear this season but was regularly mentioned in Idol 10).

So, even if Sawai got less votes than Nachiket he may have been scored lower by the judges and that can lead to his elimination on combined scores. I am assuming that the marks + votes total of Danish was anyway much higher than Nachiket.
