His Chalo Bulava Aaya Hai was almost fully in lower range except for intro and ending. Chunar was also lower and this week he's singing Aayat ki tarah so I think hes quite versatile.

Even if he isnt versatile, who cares lol...him in his form is still better than everyone else lol

very well said👏👏👍🏼

Obviously not contesting that he has a well-trained "pakiwi" voice, but Chunar is not a low range song at all and Aayat is in a classical high range space, which is his comfort zone...that doesn't demonstrate versatility to me personally.

Versatility is overrated. All singers don't need to be versatile. If you are versatile then that is great for you, it is a plus. But it is not necessary. Did we care about Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan being versatile?
Salman is an amazing singer.

Salman is an awesome singer and a master in the field at this young age. He has the potential to be a legend in this field.all singers are trained on this show but no one can match his caliber the way he can sing low notes as well as very high notes. In the name of versatility we lose out on such good singers. Where in the Indian idol format Is it written that you have to sing rock songs along with classical ...if that is the case then not even 1 singer will qualify for this competition.

Low notes or high notes ... what does it matter? What matters is the emotions he puts into each rendition. Salman sings with such emotions that there has rarely been a guest who left with dry eyes.
It is his forte to sing high notes. Let it be his speciality. He does not need to croon and sing soft songs. There are plenty of Arijits and Sonu Nigams around. But a Salman with such a voice, that can reach an unbelievable pitch... WOW! India .. appreciate this.

If You think he is not good enough or versatile enough , you are seriously thinking trivially. Think of him as an artiste with great potential.

Freddie Mercury . Placindo Domingo and many sopranoes are known only because they can reach a certain pitch . AND they did not bother to prove themselves by singing octaves lower.

Talent and Art in any catergory is just that... Talent and Art.

All great comments about versatility not being the necessity in a competition.

If a singer is versatile that's great but if not let them be masters of their genres. I remember one SaReGaMaPa season I think it was where the contestants were a mix of ghazal singers, classical singers, and others too. If only singers who can sing all kinds of songs are chosen on the shows how do the others with great caliber get an exposure..

Biswajit and talented? HAHAHH Please.

Yes I agree...Soumyo - when in form is right up there with Salman when Salman is in form too.

Somo shouldve stayed longer than the likes of Vibhor, Kunal and Ankhush - who are all AVERAGE singers.

I am glad some of you agree that Salman sings less and screams more and Nitin is sort of following him as well. But we know the judges will make sure Salman wins
