Amy is speaking to Chandini ( the lawyer and Mukund are also present ) over the phone and tells her that Vishesh has already got her message and is trying the top police inspector's number, but nobody is picking up the phone. Chandini becomes frustrated. Amy tells her not to worry and says that she will come over as soon as their shift is over.
A worried Chandini puts down the phone and says that this means she cannot free her Beeji now. The lawyer says that anyway till morning we can't do anything. Chandini with tears in her eyes says that her Beeji is very unwell and if she spends the whole night in the jail, her situation will get even worse.
Akshay and Loweena are lying in the room ( Manisha has gone out somewhere ) and Loweena asks Akshay why he didn't help Manisha when he had money with him. Akshay tries to deny it, but Loweena takes out a wad of money from his bag and asks him what this is. Akshay snatches the money from her and tells her that his brother has sent it to him. It is his money and his needs are very important. Loweena says that Manisha's problem is even more important than yours, but Akshay impatiently reminds her that this money is for their most important need and that is drugs. Loweena just flops back onto the bed. Akshay asks her for a cup of coffee and Loweena asks him to help her. Both head for the kitchen unaware that Manisha has been stealthily listening to the whole conversation. She sits on the bed and remembers Chandini's tearful face pleading with the police not to take her Beeji. She goes to Akshay's bag, takes out the money with a guilty expression on her face and then suddenly puts it back because she hears a noise. Akshay and Loweena come back to the room and Akshay gives Manisha a cup of coffee telling her that she should drink the coffee and smoke a joint later and then she will forget all her troubles.
Beeji and Mrs. Godbole are sitting dejectedly inside the cell and Beeji is trying to warm herself from the cold. Suddenly someone catches hold of her hand and she looks up to find Chandini. Chandini with tears in her eyes asks Beeji if her joints ache a lot and says she is bebas as she can't do anyhthig to help. But Beeji putting up a brave expression says that it is just because of old age. Sunitha massaged her feet so nicely, she has got strength in her legs again and now she feels like dancing Bhangra in front of all these people! Chandini takes her leave and bursts into tears outside the cells. The senior inspector looks at her and tells her that he is sorry for the pain she must be feeling, bu he is helpless as his hands are bound by the law. He slyly suggests to Chandini that she is not trying harder and she should concentrate her efforts in one direction only ( No doubt he is expecting some sort of rishwath ). Chandini thinks for sometime and tells the inspector that he is absolutely right. She tells Mukund that they will go to the hospital to meet the parents of the sick children and explain to them about the state of Beeji and Sunitha tai. Surely they will take pity on them and one or two will come and tell the police. They go from there and the irritated inspector thinks to himself that they didn't even understand what he was trying to say.
Chandini and Mukund go to the hospital but both stop short on seeing the children moaning in pain to their parents who are trying to comfor them. Chandini collapses in tears against a wall and asks Mukund as to how they can ask these people to leave their sick children and come with them to the police station. Just then they overhear a woman telling her sick boy that she will definitely take action against Sunitha Godbole and that old buddi. The nurse noticing Mukund tells the woman that it is Sunitha's son. The woman in anger comes upto Chandini and Mukund and tells them that if anything happens to her son, then she will kill Beeji and Mrs. Godbole with her own hands. Chandini crying tells the woman that her Beeji is totally innocent. Her Beeji is the sort of person who gets upset when she sees hurt and poor children so how can she hurt so many children knowingly by mixing impurities in the food. Another mother who is listening exclaims, khana! She tells Chandini that she sends homecooked food for her son and that after school, he along with other children went to a panipuri stand. Chandini is shocked and exclaims, Panipuri!
Manisha who is unable to sleep gets up. She looks at Akshay and Loweena who are fast asleep and then at Akshay's bag where the money is kept.
Chandini tells Mukund that all they have to do is to go to the police inspector and tell him that it is the panipuri vendor's fault that the children are hospitalized and not Beeji and therefore they will surely be freed. A vendor who is listening to them asks Chandini as to what world she lives in. He informs the two that the police had already caught the panipuri vendor yesterday evening, but they let him go because he gave them chai pani. Chandini is confused at the term and asks the vendor what he means. The vendor says that it means rokda or rishwath. Chandini is shocked to hear this and tells the vendor that she is her Beeji's granddaughter and she remember's her father's advice and moral values and she will do no such wrong deed.
Simultaneously Manisha takes the money from Akshay's bag and tells sorry to Akshay silently and that she is only doing this to free Beeji.
Chandini, the lawyer and Mukund are opposite to the chief inspector. The inspector pleads with the inspector to do something quick to release Beeji as they are having money difficulty. The police inspector tells them that his hands are bound by the law and he cannot do anything. Chandini tells him that everybody knows by now that it is the panipuri vendor's fault, but the inspector tells Chandini that an FIR has been lodged in Beeji and Sunitha's name and unless they arrange for the bail money, he is helpless. The lawyer tells Chandini that he put in maximum efforts, but all in vain and he can do no more to help them. Chandini sinks back to the chair and tells that, where are you Mini didi. If anything happens to Beeji, I will not be able to forgive you. Just then Amy comes in and asks Chandini if 'she' will be able to forgive herself if anything happened to Beeji. Chandini looks at her in surprise and Amy tells her that she is being very stubborn; here the whole system is like this. Without chai paani nothing can be done. And right now nothing matters more than Beeji's health. Kabir who has come along with Amy agrees to this and shows Chandini money saying that everybody at IC including Varun, Smitha and Kavitha have contributed money. Chandini thanks Kabir, but tells him she has no use for it as she can't go against her moral principles. Amy and Kabir try to make her understand and Chandini with tears in her eyes just leaves the station and goes outside.
Chandini leans against a post and says to herself that all the differences between good and bad are blurring. The same values which she was brought up with hang like chains around her legs. On one hand there are her principles and on the other hand is beeji whose is in deep trouble. Just then Amy and Kabir come up to her and Amy tells Chandini worriedly that Beeji is suffering a lot from joint pain and she really requires painkillers. Kabir offers to get the medicine and leaves. Chandini thinks to herself that if some money can help my Beeji get out of trouble, then I will forget my principles and do whatever I can to free her.
Chandini and Amy walk back into the police station, but the chief inspector is not there. They ask another police officer who tells them that the inspector has gone out and will return shortly. He asks the two to wait and they wait on a seat. Just then Vidya and Prem come in and Chandini is totally surprised to seem them. Vidya tells Chandini that she has come to give the statement to the police. Chandini in surprise exclaims, What?! Vidya tells her that it was Prem who made her realize what a wrong thing she was doing by not giving the statement. Amy tells Vidya that there is no need for her statement because anyway they have to give the police chai pani. But Chandini tells her that there is still need for Vidya's statement. Vidya made her realize how quickly she gave up the struggle so fast. She says that she will take Beeji out of jail, but without giving rishwath. Amy is shocked to hear this and reminds Chandini of how much pain Beeji is in. But Chandini tells her that Beeji will get even more pain if she comes to find out that Chandini disregarded her values. Just then the inspector comes in and tells Chandini that he letting her Beeji go and asks Chandini why didn't she tell him that she knows the DCP? ( I'm presuming that it is the work of Vishesh; he must have contacted the DCP ). Chandini is so happy on hearing this.
Beeji and Mrs. Godbole are sitting inside the cell when a lady police officer unlocks the cell and tells the two that they are free to go. Both smile at each other at relief and come out. A happy Mukund comes and hugs his mother and an ecstatic Chandini runs forward and throws herself on Beeji followed by the others who are all happy. This happy reunion is witnessed by Manisha who just arrives outside the station in a taxi. With tears in her Beeji, she sees Beeji and Chandini hugging each other with happy smiles on their faces. She can't take it anymore and runs towards them ( their backs are towards her ). She exclaims Beeji and both Chandini and Beeji turn around and they are absolutely SHOCKED to see Manisha in front of them. They look at each other in ecstatic surprise. Chandini exclaims, Mini didi!
