I vaguely remember seeing such tropes in 80s-90s movies. however even in those, guy will have a mouth and then bluntly state which sister he was truly hoping to marry. at that point, the real conflict and chaos will begin. so this is such a purana type story that gul is pinching.
it is so strange these characters are all discussing marriage for a girl who is just 18. is no one interested in college? a career? or just to have fun in life?
Mango ji (Sorry, I don't know your real name), in ITV shows, the real qualification is to be 18 for a girl and real career is to get married and keep your husband hooked in the marriage and keep away your jealous sister from your husband. 🤣🤣
That itself is a huge task, keeping in mind you have a toxic in laws and a jealous sister who is ready to snatch away husband and have EMA with him. And you know husbands are ready for EMA anytime with anyone
Fun? this task itself is so fun and entertaining that you will forget about any other fun🤣
Baaki sare careers like teaching, acting, research, marketing, medical, engineering, police, administration, finance etc., are left out for us girls in real life.🤣🤣
I don't remember any show specially focussed on a girl's career
Waise ML also will be a doctor, police, business man etc., only for name sake. They don't show him working anywhere🤣🤣
Story remains the same, just names changes and actors are different. Be it any channel. BG looks like 80s-90s, but people are with modern gadgets and new car models. But mindset about women remains the same. Be it SP or Rangu or any other channel
Besides jokes, I feel depressed about how these shows portray women. FL will be sacrificial and doormat. And PL will go down to such a low level, that it looks like the only purpose of women's life is to get married to a man, by hook or crook. Pathetic
