The same drama which is currently going on as Imlie 2.0 took place last year in a prime time show running from the past 13 years.

DKP is Director's Kut Production and Rajan Shahi is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's producer.

Good question - for the daughter of the bad ass ASR & the hothead Imlia- she seem like a meek, airy and very poetic girl. Not at all the daredevil that both Mummy & daddy were.

based on my first impressions, these girls have very different personalities. it isn't necessary that parents and children have the same characters or aspirations or views on life. however, the side characters act like these two are reincarnations and therefore, the same. 🤦 thats why the descrepancies are hilarious because they are not paying attention to even their own dramaland rules.

that said, I was giggling when rupi made it seem like cheeni taking imlie's kurti as some huge crime. I lived for a while with my cousin sister and we borrowed each other's clothes and jewelry all the time. it doesn't mean either of us became villains. 😂

ummm, I think I will have to skip this for my own sanity. 😂 I watched the first two eps and the only two things that were positive:

-- narmada being badass grandma with her swift rejection (fun to watch)

-- sundar actually having dialogues after months of barely saying anything. 😂

here are my random thoughts:

-- apparently imlie is so bichari that she cannot afford good clothes even though she belongs to a rich household. 🙄 is there some rule that cotton kurtas need to look so shoddy? ugh. all good tailors and boutique owners are surely getting annoyed. kekekek..

-- also imlie has no brain and lack of finish despite living in the city for so many years. very unbelievable.

-- the girl is also a bit of airhead with her ode to wind (which only makes sense if you live in a city with nice weather and trees. since much of our country is going through a bloody heatwave this year, the only wind we get is under the fan).

-- she also doesn't have a life apparently and is following her chini didi everywhere. 🤦

-- what is with -- "I don't like crowds" -- right, because you are so sanskari? 🙄🙄 then take OLA or bus and go home. or tell the driver to take you to the nearest junction or drop you at home and then do a u-turn to pick up cheeni. use some brains girl! (maybe difficult since she does not seem to have much)

-- the new male lead also has some problem in the brain cell department; have to agree with the manager -- if folks are paying 10K for a concert, he has no business giving a free concert "because he was in tune with the wind." say what again???? the wind told you to give away your music for free????? 🙄🤣

-- yes, papa atharv is right; money does not grow on trees. if atharv was starving musician, he certainly would not be giving such stupid wind dialogues and would instead be focused on trying to pay his rent. 🤦🤦 he can afford to be free because of papa's money. papa has a point.

-- so maybe imlie and arthav are both airheads and therefore, perfectly matched. they can live on wind and leave the food and money to the rest of us mortals who have to figure out practical stuff.

-- but then we have dupatta falling on chini and now a love triangle forms. why? who wears a dupatta with a dress? atharv apparently does not pay any attention to women's fashion. 😂

-- and why do we have a triangle? is there is a shortage of men?? what is with these girls all falling for the same guy? why can't they say fun dialogues (like from 'hum tum') -- "if you miss one bus, catch the next one!" -- nope, they will sit there and whine like he is the last man on earth and the human population will dry up if they do not get together with him. get a life girls!!! or better, get on some shaadi app if you are in need of a groom.

maybe I should watch on and off so I can make snarky comments? 🤣

You didn’t see the third episode , would love the snarkiest remark on that. Haha I couldn’t take it.

the characterisation of imlie is so poor and unbelievable. If it was cheeni I would understand she grew up in PG, and it makes sense for her to go back to PG but nah she was smart as a tack when she lil she isn’t gonna be dumb, let’s make imlie dumb dodo. Again making it seem like living the rich life and liking something other than temple paat and hawa, makes you spoilt. While being unpad, embracing nature makes you the good one. I will never understand narmadas this change . Baby didn’t keep bomb, adults did. Seems so forced

I've not watched the show before neither I read the summary. Only knew they be following GK's usual killing off the parents and having the daughter for the new season 😆 So thank you for the rundown...it cleared a few confusion I had regarding some of the characters. 😆

So if Cheeni is the adopted daughter and Imile is the real daughter then why exactly does her grandma hate her? 🤪 Kuch bhi!!! Shouldn't she be happy that imile is the last nishani of her dead son? and shower her with love and affection for his sake at least? And why the hell she lived in the village even tho she had a lavish house and ppl to look after her? Chalo the grandma hates her for whatever stupid reasons but her aunt was there and seems to love her dad to beats and pieces then why did the aunt give up on her and let her live with someone else and not with them in her rightful house? Matlab for the drama they're showing kuch bhi nonsense

If only it wasn't for Megha-Karan pairing, I'd have felt this show after 2nd epi itself🤪
