Also Aru went to chemist store while imlie was praying and he faced Sita Maiyya before leaving. I don't think they showed all this to show him getting unsuccessful to get a clue.

Basically they know it's Joe but they don't know her motive yet. Criminals need a strong motive to feel motivated to commit a crime. They're acting up to know her reason behind all this.
