Aryan or imlie the protagonist

I came across this post in tumblr ( credits to user badedramay )

about aryan and imlie ( the connection with viewers )

posting some snippets from the post

Imlie works as a character when everyone around her is unmade. the universe bends around backwards to accommodate her. and that’s just…not good for the audience who now has a character that they actually root for for who he actually is on a day-to-day basis instead of what the writing wants him to be perceived as based on some big™ moments

I used to say that any character that exists in this show’s universe does because of Imlie. she’s the face, she’s the anchor, she’s the character around which the universe revolves. I used this justification to explain why Tripathis continued to take up space in the show’s story when Imlie was supposed to be done with them. because Imlie was continuously shown to go back to them. but NOW with Aryan…idk if it was deliberate or not but Aryan has been made such an entity that ironically he can survive well on his own. but just the way Imlie is used to keep the other characters relevant, Aryan is now used to keep Imlie relevant. if not as her partner than as her foe. but since epi 310..the writers have slowly shifted this world to now have two anchors - Imlie AND Aryan. when there was just one anchor toh bhali thi, burithi, jaisi bhi thi..yehi thi. toh hazam karna padta tha. but it’s becoming clearer now that within these two anchors, who the writers love more. otherwise why would Aryan be given a whole episode of self realization to make up for his mistake of taking away Imlie’s agency? the efforts to show him as the hero and the effort to make sure he CONTINUES to remain a hero aren’t without reason.

Bold --> Aryan has taken center stage in imlie land. Plain and simple , that is why shaadi track didnt work at all. Now as far as the revenge track is concerned , if they mess anything to make imlie the universe , imlie can do no wrong. They will lose ever more viewers than the shaadi track.

I dont know if its deliberate of them to make aryan character as important as imlie , But they have locked themselves in a corner , as they cant do any wrong in aryan to show imlie as maahanta , as it backfires on them.

Thank you for this post. This is what happening in this show for the longest time. The character Imlie has been given too much importance by dumbing down all the other characters which is not good from a story point of view.

And now watching religiously for last 4 months, i understand that writing was always bad in the show.

The tracks look fanfiction inspired at best. 🤔

please - I have read better fan fiction @mltr16 and @varshaoforange I am talking about your stories!- this story is the kind of thing people come up with when they are high 🤣

Itv has forever been cursed by this mahanta syndrome. They put forward a show idea with women at the helm. So viewers assume she will be mahanta ki devi n do no wrong. But with characters like Anuj in anupama, Aarnav in ipkknd, suraj in diya aue baati and aryan in imlie they have created another angle that is hard to handle with rough hands. Its not just the female but the feminist male that they need to balance. In stories where its easy to write flawed characters like Aditya or vanraj, its harder to maintain balance with someone who is always reasonable , correct and forthright. Thats why i worry that makers will give up n ruin this character soon.

... Like the initial scenes, where he throws water on her, for the life of me i can't understand the reason behind it still

So maybe they just wanted to make him arrogant but someone messed up the character sketch and then this happened 😆😆
