To be frank, ASR and other rathores are carrying the show on their shoulders these days. The actor playing the role of Imlie is good but I see lots of bloopers because in all romantic type scenes etc if you look carefully she tends to laugh and they cut those scenes abruptly. The actor is young and maybe a bit uncomfortable so I ignore it anyways. Now coming to the show, it is Imlie's show but she's been made the weakest character and biggest hypocrite. And I think this behaviour of hers is going to stay for a very long time till true face of Ts and AKT is not seen by her at least. Because she's obsessed with their so called goodness beyond which she's giving blind eye to everyone else like aryan, rathores, meethi, Satyakam etc. She's being triggered by smallest of acts of asr even if those doesn't seem hurtful to even us as an audience and whatever she did today was out of that very small trigger and her brattiness and When Narmada called out her name today crying that time Imlie was seen being shocked and coming to terms with reality that what she did was very wrong and then she made up all those false excuses to pacify Narmada and Arpita and these ladies were fine because they have a very pure heart but if you see Aparna, she caught what Imlie was actually trying to do and called her out for it and Imlie couldn't answer her because she knew she lied through her teeth to Rathore ladies because they love her purely so she could easily fool/manipulate them but she knew Aparna saw through her true intentions which were to actually embarrass ASR. So at the outset I found the episode fine but when I give it a thought again then I see the subtle form of manipulation done by Imlie. And it's not the first time you see, she's lied and manipulated Malini, Ts and many other people earlier also when they were also shown Very good at heart during the start of the show, though now Ts and Malini's character arc has changed but they too were like Narmada and Arpita once upon a time. So, back to my point, this show has always been this way since the start, all 3 main characters that is Imlie, Akt and Malini had their own flaws, they were never introduced as pure souls. Aditya had a righteous attitude but he came to be viewed as an egoistic person since Day 1, Imlie was shown as this chirpy good natured girl who was abused a lot because of her being an illegitimate child but she was over pampered by Meethi and SK and she too had this I'm always right and I'm the victim and her hero complex because of which she married Aditya to save him. Malini was also introduced as a pure soul, but she was always insecure and emotionally weak as well as overly dependent on AKT because of her parent's failed marriage, but still Malini was the bestest among these 3.
Then ST and GM's acting and chemistry started winning hearts so they eventually had to turn malini evil and Aditya was made to ping pong between the two sisters in order to create ITV drama and get more TRPs because nowadays almost all ITV shows are having this sister's fighting for same man plot. I think GM got bored of this ping pong game because his character was never a strong one since start and it was degraded further and further so maybe he decided to move on from show.
And then makers were in a fix, because Imlie was a top show and changing a fine actor and that too a well established male lead is difficult job so in order to sustain the show they had to bring The Most powerful ML ever to exist in ITV that is ASR who can save their show and keep it on top. But now it's been more than 100 episodes of ASR and ipl season as well as shaadi season in star plus hence this forced revenge track and then marriage track and they knew by doing all this suddenly they'll definitely lose trp because the way story was progressing after asr's entry was being loved by all and hence they banked on asr's popularity and even though asr was wrong during all these episodes since revenge track but audience still empathised with him because his dialogues and character arc was written this way and We were getting lots of BTS and lots of articles praising FK and sudden rise in his popularity, yes that is well deserved but it was a well thought out marketing strategy as well to keep the show sailing and Since they can't show Imlie suddenly all lovey dovey with asr or agreeing to even arranged marriage so they brought this forced marriage track and in the process degraded her already weak character a lot because audience love asr so they can't butcher asr character as of now though I assure all of you that it'll be butchered in another 100-150 episodes later for sure, because it's ITV, but I sincerely hope makers surprise me here. And now Imlie's character is receiving too much hatred but then her character was always flawed, it's just that when ASR character was introduced he was a very strong one and he overshadowed even Imlie's character. So they can not change Imlie's character overnight, she has always been like that but she has been made more extreme with asr and Rathore right now so that later on she can be made to open her eyes and look at the reality and the differences between Ts and Rs, and Aryan and AKT. But now with aryan's accident track they'll slowly and subtly start changing Imlie's character which started since today itself. It is a long journey my friends and it'll take time. I'm not justifying any character but I've been following this show since Day 1 so these are my observations. Most of you guys came to this show because of asr and have not seen Imlie from Day1 so not able to relate to her. But Imlie is an old character and she's the main character, a village girl, an illegitimate child, an over pampered child, a stubborn child, a woman with very high saviour complex and an unhealthy attachment to the kind of people who throw even tiniest of crumbs of love towards her even though they looked at her as Naukrani, she has always craved for any kind of love no matter howmuchever toxic it is because she was always looked down upon by society in general. But asr and rathores were introduced as very healthy characters and Imlie has never seen that kind of love ever before from complete strangers who has no relation whatsoever with her and still accepted her with all heart because you see in yesterday's mahaepisode also she was telling Sita maiyya ki pehli Baar koi log humko izzat diye our tum unse bhi Humara Rishta bandh di. I mean she acknowledges that for the first time someone that is rathores accepted her for who she is without any expectations but now god made her have relation with them also, so she feels that whenever she's bound in some Rishta then that Rishta always give dhokha to her as her Amma also gave by forcing her to marry asr, so she's scared of being bound in relations and spoiling the pure bond which she had with them. And about asr and Imlie, she's damn confused there because she's not able to enter his walls and also she's being strongly pulled towards him emotionally and physically which was never the case with akt, and Imlie is not a kind of person who believes in revenge and she had build a holier than thou image of asr in her mind as can be seen in the episode of tandav when she told akt that she blindly trusts aryan and man I knew there itself that she's gonna fall hard on this, because this girl just believes in black and white she doesn't know any grey and she always saw rathores as strong and happy people and Ts as always crying and helpless so that's why she's unable to relate to aryan's pain also right now. And after knowing about asr's revenge plan she just assumed herself to be a pawn despite him refusing because she has low sense of self worth and akt triggered her during tandav day that aryan promoted you because he was using you and you didn't deserve all what you got. See there ? She has always been easily manipulated by Ts and AKT. These kind of relations takes very long and very bitter lessons to be broken. So she'll learn it hard way. And from tomorrow after asr's accident we can expect to actually start seeing a New Imlie2.0 beginning which was promised after her divorce with akt but got paused due to this convoluted marriage drama. I'm not empathising with Imlie, damn I even close my eyes and ears whenever I see her on screen since last few episodes. But I'm trying to explain how her character has always been this way and she's still Imlie1.0, her new journey will begin now only. And this is ITV where each episode is of mere 20 minutes where they've got to tell a mini story in 20 minutes everyday so it can't be all goody goody everyday and the show has to run at least for 1-2 more years so it's gonna be frustrating and slow. I'm not the sanest person on this forum, hell, I'm one of those who bash the makers most whenever episode is bad but I'm not ignorant as well and I know how ITV works so that's why I take out frustration on forum and then move on with my life, because it has got to be the way it is. We don't even know what will happen to us the very next second and that's what makes life exciting right ? So take this show also as a show, enjoy it, rant about it, but then don't get too emotionally attached to it. Makers will do what will give them trp and hence money, they don't care shit about us, all these bts and all are just to create hype and keep people talking and guessing and hence trying to increase trp and popularity and hence their business. So take everything with a pinch of salt and don't have high expectations, but do give your viewpoints because sometimes makers do listen but that sometimes is like once in 1000, do remember that.
