This is something I remember talking about in one of the previous discussions, where I said that I don't think she is going to stop any time soon. And it still holds true today. No matter how burnt out she is, she won't say "No", at least to a certain extent of time in the future to the T Clan. And we have already seen how she reacts to failures, once in PD, once where Tripathi House was sold, once again when she couldn't show Malini's face to the T Clan using her ghost plan. Every time, either she becomes desolate or desperate. She will literally go to any lengths to save and protect them. That's because they are the first people who accepted her for the person she was, even in the form of a househelp, her antics were celebrated. Nobody had done that before from the villagers, her biological father to her nakli nani except Satyakaam, and if we remember he was the only person she was willing to fight for against the Tripathis. In her mind, she owes them heavily for the acceptance and the place she got in their home. That's why when they got to know about the marriage and emotionally abused her, she not only accepted the abuse but thought she deserved it. Because she thought that she had massively betrayed them while taking advantage of their trust.

And in her head, the emotional abuse is normalized to such an extent that she thinks that she deserves only that much. She's grateful for all she has received from them, hence when they call her in distress, she is spurned more from the guilt than anything else.

Realistically speaking it takes years to get over the gratitude and especially if it's family (as Imlie considers them) you might not be able to detach from them for the lifetime. You are just so tormented by guilt of all the things they have done for you, verses how much you have given them in return which will always seem less that your trauma and abuse would seem insignificant.

Rupi is definitely on a friendlier side but she is biased af and toxic for Imlie which both don't realize. She has started to unhealthily bond Imlie with her family rather than seeing Imlie as the individual she is. I would love to hear something like that from Rupi and then Imlie realizing that no matter how much she does, it will always be less.

But that scene seems far fetched right now. And honestly the way the makers have been whitewashing the T Clan, my hopes are really less.

On a serious note, seeing how there hasn't been even a speck of dirt on Aryan’s character even after the promo came out, I'm thinking there is going to be no force as such from either Aryan or Imlie. They just threw that line in the promo to get eyeballs and given Gul's history, people are all panicking. 😆 Just like Adi never told Imlie that he wants to divorce her because he wants to marry Malini and give their child its haq, Aryan may also never say if you want to save Mr. Tripathi, you gotta marry me. 😆

ahhh, now i will rest in peace!!!!!! 🤣🤣 By the way i loved her determination today!! It was amazing to watch it man...

The Imlie I saw today, had no shadow of Aditya or Tripathis over her. I only saw the Imlie who is shit scared to lose Aryan. So, I really cannot grasp coerced marriage factoring into this equation.

Imlie cannot hate Aryan, because she knows where he is coming from. Aryan doesn't hate Imlie, but he will do bad to do good, in his head. I don't see a hate story brewing here. Just a complicated mess of a marriage unfolding here.

Now who said I do first is not my problem; my problem is that if this is done to protect Aditya and his family, again, then really I am reaching the end of the rope with my patience. Give me a break, really. Ask the pompous ass of a son to grow a spine and own up to his foolishness. But if this is some 50-50 partnership deal. I am game.

contrast with T family expecting her to save adi trapped in PD--- her trauma of not being able to find him, it was utter madness we saw

now both situations are different in aspect that in one life is in danger while in other only money

but similar in the aspect that both were responsibilities beyond her capacity and her reaction on failure was different in both cases.

She knows how conditional their acceptance is at the back of her mind, she just doesn't want to acknowledge it because it is some sort of acceptance after all and it would destroy her mirage of the happy family, she fits into.

no worries sister, i know GUL very very well!!! and this is why i am not full fledged writing yet. And i am just celebrating today ka Imli.. tom also i think we can celebrate bec she is in that "losing someone" state and if Adi comes in front she will burst i think.

maybe once she gets to know that this family has indeed accepted her without any expectations then she will really turn a blind eye to the Ts and their tricks??? Right now i know what you have mentioned is 200% correct. She is ok with any kind of belonging/acceptance. She probably will understand more what in the real sense this means. After that we have to see what her actions/reactions are when this family gets affected bec of the Ts.

"Agency" - She has total freedom in the right sense at the R household..and yet there is that restriction of rishta. Once she has settled down into R household after the Arylie shaadi (forced or not), that would be the true start to her weaning process. Whether she would be able to say No remains to be seen. But she won't be (subconsciously) so dependent on them for their pyaar..

And by the way, your words summarized Sahir Azeem Chaudary perfectly (Harshad's character in Humsafars)..the show I mentioned yesterday. Unlike Imlie who has Aryan for moral support, the other character didn't have any..and was spiraling out of control..(which still doesn't excuse his actions)
