Adding another lens here:

Imlie’s long-standing / childhood best friend - Prakash - the boy whom Satyakam adopted and educated and with whom Imlie grew up. Prakash had geniune feelings for Imlie, cared about her, and showed her the mirror when necessary in a no nonsense way. Imlie (with or without forced marriage to BS) never reciprocated.

Aditya got quite jealous when he observed Imlie & Prakash together — when all they are doing is goofing around in her house and laughing / playing around Meethi like kids. He makes his displeasure known to everyone around and Meethi understands the undercurrents and gently handles the issue.

Aditya not only asks Imlie to get married to Prakash (coz he has Malini n Imlie should also move on with this man she seems to goof around with and who likes her) but also behaves in a rude, condescending manner with Prakash.

So, to summarize, Aditya is quite territorial and is the type to take issue with any man Imlie hangs out with — be it a simple village graduate like Prakash or an uber rich, accomplished CEO like Aryan. It’s beyond mere jealousy and insecurity…its also possessiveness.

Please add unhealthy in front of all those emotions... Because those emotions can be healthy as well in a balanced relationship of equal footing.

My word for that type of emotions/actions is narcissism and classic captor mindset

Yep! You are right. Anything within limits is alright. It didn’t seem like a red flag watching Aditya back then coz it was a one-off case…he was falling in love…and it was chaotic for him…yada yada…

Knowing what we know now about Aditya, his emotions / actions were and are unhealthy.
