So my theory is that it’s because GM is leaving. Even though the reception to Arjun/Arylie has been really positive they need to establish, really quickly, while they still have some old fans that might leave with GM’s exit that there is another love story here.

With my limited knowledge, the quickest/easiest way to ensure that people stay hooked and watching is to make up some contrived reasons to continue throwing the lead pair in each others path.

In Madhubala for example - TRPs were not good. Suddenly they changed the whole track of the story. There was the 4-phere wale shaddi and a bit of tashan but then they had Madhu start falling pretty fast afterwards - especially after the man got shot and she saved him! Even just with that wedding their ratings starting climbing.

So yeah, they want to retain this momentum and you do that by having the new male lead start showing his love - cause it’s too soon for Imlie.

I don’t know if I’m explaining that well. I’m supposed to be sleeping lol

Hindi is my 3rd language if I count English, Punjabi is like 5th thanks to cousins and such. Every wedding has that Jassi song, Dil Le Gayee 🤣🤣
