What a great question. I’ve been thinking on it and I kind of don’t even know.

I started following another ITV show and by default sometimes on my explore page, or when I was searching for a tag related to the other show clips of Imlie would show up.

I only saw a few bits of them in the office, but never stopped to watch properly, even though I was intrigued by FK - I keep saying I wasn’t into him looks wise but something about the beard, the voice, and that cut on his eyebrow. Then I saw the divorce promo and was a bit confused, like who’s this man?!? 🤨 But after seeing a few small snippets of the rain scenes I was like - okay, where do I watch this?!?

I started digging around for clips and that was it. In watching the clips I have to say I think it was the scene where she muddies up his car and the whole bit afterwards that had me hooked. It was so cute! Plus then then the little interaction with his family after he bring her home (including the light falling incident) and I was done.

Initially with his entry scene and his antics at the mandir I was like eh… maybe not. But then I had fallen in love with his mom as well so kept going - if he had such a kind mom there had to be more to this banda. I didn’t see the hospital confrontation until I found the Google drive here but if I had seen that in my initial watch, I think that would’ve been the moment for me. I loved that scene.

Even I'm off to sleep and might be unavailable tomorrow...

Elaborating on my og answer further. I hadn't watched ITV for most of my adult life prior to the lockdown. Even then, I stuck to watching old shows like IPK & Devon ke Device. Y'know, shows that had good cinematic value and were 70% watchable at least. I had only watched few of Nakuul's shows prior to this.

Star Plus was going all in with the remakes this time around but I have found post-2013 ITV to be gimmicky and very cringeworthy.

I especially stayed away from this show because, wait who doesn't want to watch the romanticisation of coerced marriages and bigamy?

Nevertheless I knew about the overall all show progression, don't ask me how. I even liked KC.

Come Aryan's entry : I thought that Gul was trying every arrow in her arsnel. An a-hole antihero named ASR? That's not a desperate attempt at Arnav 2.0. I found it to be a bit ludicrous. But Fahmaan changed my damn mind. After Barun, Nakuul, and Kunal, he's probably the only guy on TV who is such a good actor but also commands the room. Then came Imlie's first assignment. And then came the aarti at office. They were such soft, intimate few interactions, I was hooked. They were already overlaying very mundane scenes with such intimacy. Aryan tying the i-card around her neck, and the dupatta scenes were prime examples of this.

It didn't help that Aditya was being a sexist pig in almost every scene.
