I also was like the others who did not understand the subtext in that scene until much later. When I saw the episode multiple times and started to understand Adi's body language, it struck me how much he was making additional efforts out of guilt rather than anything else.

Adi never loved Malini from episode one. She was a good friend with whom he assumed he will have a decent married life with as he had never met anyone else who could evoke any feelings in him. Imlie fascinated him from day 1, hence he was able to strike up a camaraderie with her even though he hardly knew her. After the incident also, he was constantly pulled in both directions - guilt on hiding the truth and worry and frustration about Imlie and her being forced in his life. Even in the PD2 trip, he was constantly worried about her at various junctures, that culminated in the gunshot scene where he realised that she was cosmically connected with him, which he can no longer deny. Uske baad whenever he felt anything for Imlie, his guilt would make him overcompensate towards Moon. That became his pattern till he realised that he loved Imlie, where he then cut himself off completely from Malini, which really confused her. Here also I legit felt bad for her and understood her pain and felt her anger was justified. What wiped away all my sympathy was her taking a drastic step without once confronting Adi or Imlie and just decided that she needed to do this. Also after that also, she felt better to lie and get the truth using manipulative techniques rather than ask for the truth upfront. Reason being during the sindoor kand she was string enough to blame Imlie and chado on her, but suddenly when it came to face her fears, she suddenly became weak. This pendulam became only worse, to the extent that today forget sympathy, we actually love it when she gets chopped by various characters in the show. This utter degradation in her characterization is what disappoints me the most, as on paper Malini could have had a really beautiful character graph, had they got it right.

i was like you.. couldnt understand why was in love with imlie when he just agve such emotional scene with malini.. kaafi sar ohoda.. repeat dekha tabhi pata chala.. yeh pyaar tha hi nahi..

pyar toh kal dikha na.. jaise padaah jaisa admi ko madam ne piche se pakda to shield..

Whatever's back hug she got.. well i am sure she was expecting it the other way but hum kaam chala hi lenge 😆

True that. GM is the only guy who could have sold this episode the way he did. His natural ability to make even feminine qualities look realistic is something to be applauded👏.

The way he cries and literally submits himself in Imlie's arms - man that guy can really convince me that despite everything he is a real softie at heart - like Imlie calls him - a coconut.

But I have to give it to these guys for creating such a situation on ITV, where they made Imlie save ADI from the goons on her own. Usually when the heroine comes to save, she usually gets some people along and is relegated to help the guy escape without getting hurt too much. Here they made Adi vulnerable and Imlie strong - her giving that shoulder brush was like GM giving that "come here" look during the lodge fight. That swap and their conviction is amazing and on another level that cannot be matched by any show or actors on ITV right now.

yes someof them were like shocked to see imlie.. i was loling.. but then when he smiled.. i was like awwwwwwwwwwwww

these guys just make scenes worth watching by just their expressions..

you are right.. a ML giving such fantastic performance ven whe in destressed situation and not making it cringe was awesome.. they managed to keep it as real as they could..

Someone on Twitter mentioned how these 2 ko aise cheezein sirf NDE ke time par hi sujhta hai. Warna toh normal situation pe 6 ft doori banaye rakhte hai aur badi mushkil se cheek touch, dhuan romance nahi toh ballroom dance milta hai.

But despite everything like you said, yesterday's episode even with just the eyelock would have made it for me. Just that sense of peace and finding their missing piece to feel complete again - that was what it looked like and I loved that. That is what makes these 2 special. They do not need huge Romantic setups for us to get the feels, just that simple connect gives us more than full episode filled with fluffy romance in other shows.

Can’t they just show that, Adilie are together only coz of love? This track is like competition between Malini and Imlie - who will sacrifice their life to save Adi? Ts will accept her as bahu…

Many times in the beginning of the show Adi and Imlie saved each others’ life, I felt love and it was very touching…but now all I feel is competition and not at all convincing…

I agree with you whole heartly here.. the way to prove imlie's worth this was not needed but if u look from TRP perspective this will help them hold on to the audience.. OTT episodes like these help audience speculating on what will be the outcome..

they should definitely touch on how malini was never a good fit for entire family and imlie is... that way things would look realistic..

IT was like the roles were reversed and he played it to perfection and made us go awwww.. again with his walk, even though the chains were a lil OTT..

Tried something new by being the damsel in distress and it worked... so well.

That would have been the ultimate cliche if Adi had broken the chains.. waise it felt like a 90's ka masala potboiler.... we had the baddies, we had the cops, we had the hero n heroine and the good friend or family which was SK.. all checked...let us not forget the guns.. 😆

That is why he had so many around him... 😆
