He has been accused of cheating, n not trying to save his marriage with Malini but on the contrary, I find him fiercely loyal. To lot of extent his reason to go ahead n marry Malini was bcoz of his this trait. Till the time he realised his true feelings for Imlie, he was very loyal to Malu n never even tried to evaluate his feelings for Imlie. N Once he realised that he loves Imlie, he distanced himself from Malu.

Wohi toh. His feelings and his loyalty has always been his moral compass. That is why despite him comitting bigamy, we can still root for his character. Because woh humesha has been clear on his feelings with the woman he has been with. So with Malini, Imlie was just a zimmedari till he understood that it was the other way around. That was why as soon as he realised his true feelings, he made sure to distance himself from Malini bith physically and emotionally, as he could not remain faithful to Imlie without doing that. Despite Imlie never asking him, he made sure she understood that he was going to be loyal to her, as he does not know how to behave otherwise.

Adi is one of the very few ML's that I have seen who seem real and I can connect with him as his character has shades that I can relate with very well. He is the only character jo kaafi had tak consistent raha hai (apart from his didi jaap, which is still better than Imlie's anytime) He has always been very honest with his feelings, be it for Imlie or for Malini. His priorities have always been to try and be the best version of himself, which is why even when he was mean with Imlie, he always could not see her in pain or stop himself from making sure physically she was okay.

He knew what he was doing was wrong, which was why when SK called him out on his actions, he was willing to die for Imlie. While he is happy that Malini has moved on, he would have still gone ahead with his separation even if she had not had someone else. His feelings for Imlie can never be doubted today and somewhere that started from the day he met her and just grew ten fold everytime he saw her do something that validated his belief that she is different from the women he was used to. Ironically Adi saw a lot of Aparna in Imlie, with the way she calls him out in her behaviour to the way she takes care of his family. That was also a big draw for him, as Malini was to shallow for him to really connect beyond a surface level.

Which is why he is currently in a quandry on how his family is not able to see in Imlie what is visible clearly to him. The fact that the very people whoade him understand to value of Imlie are right now not willing to value her is just not making sense to him.

Hopefully he is able to show his family what they have always known but right now not able acknowledge - That agar candle leke bhi jaate, toh Imlies se better bahu kabhi nahi mil pati for their sanki beta😆

My favorite character in this show remains Aditya. Even when he was being rude to imlie, he was a well written, complex character. I remember one episode in which Imlie asks aditya, I lost my world because i married you.. I am away from my family, friends.. i had to give up on my education.. what did you loose? Why do you act like a victim? Aditya does not reply.

But it was so clear that even though Imlie's circumstances changed because she married Aditya, she was true to herself. She saved a man and her conscience was clear..so she was able to be happy.

Externally nothing changed for Aditya. He was still marrying his long time fiancé, living with his loving family, working on a job he loves, but he changed. The way he looked at himself changed. He married an eighteen year old to get out of a tough situation. He ruined her life and then denied that she is his wife.

He hated what he became, he hated her as she was a constant reminder of what he had done. He was scared that she might reveal the truth. That his world will collapse.

The journey from that place of hate and fear to accepting his love and to declaring to the world that Imlie is his wife has been very beautiful arc. But i still feel that he gets out of things a little easily sometimes😛

Bold- So true Mojo ji. He was eaten by guilt. Even when we say he felt strongly for having deceived Malini, his biggest guilt was how he behaved with Imlie. Yes he knew she was not at fault, but initially he chose to believe she married him for her personal gains, like to pursue her studies in the city. So he kept reminding himself she is not that innocent, and used it as a tool to justify his actions towards her. That was his defence mechanism he created to start a life with Malini without feeling guilty about anything that happened in the past.

In the hut, where she came with the glass of milk, thats when he actually realised her intentions were pure, when she told him she had been as helpless as he was then, during their marriage. Thats the day he actually understood he had interpreted her wrong fully. That day every single thing he held against her crumbled down right in front of him.

That particular confrontation in the hut anchored rest of their journey. Even what happened during the gunshot I believe. He wouldn't have expressed that much pain, and regret if she hadnt told her truth about marrying him. He knew the reality subconsciously, but he needed a wake up call by hearing those words right from her own mouth that she was innocent all along.
