She feels its progressive because she is not trying to poison Imlie or kill her or playing cheap tricks on her to get her to be dumped by Adi and rather she is moving out of the picture without all that n thats good enough to be progressive for ITV i guess 😆

But is she actually moving out? The twisted game she is playing hardly is moving out.being hung up and trying to extract the reactions the taunts the ugliness of passing hands me down is hardly being called moving out inserting yourself zabardasti in every situation hardly comes under moving on.. she had to move on the truth was enough for her to take the step she didn't had to go on making ek ke baad ek jhoot.. and lol she isn't playing heal.tricks well this is worse than that caz atleast those characters know their motives and aren't a pingping doing token things

Thats true but the only logic i can make of it being progressive from her IV is is that she isnt outright negative vamp that usually such characters turn into ....itv is screwed up so this whatever flip flop char she is makers n she think its progressive in that sense i guess!

Malini must have gotten courage after meeting Meethi, who in my opinion is the strongest female character of the show. Raised a child amid all societal taunts and their financial condition. She raised Imlie to become a strong and independent woman, isn't educated herself but ensured her child would get an education. She isn't negative despite what happened to her. Does fight over "sindoor". Married SK when she was in love with him, not just so Imlie could get a dad. Anu too has been wronged but what I dislike about her is that she remembers Dev's betrayal when she looks at Imlie not when she looks at deb himself. Blames Meethi for ruining her life not Dev for cheating ... yes she fights with Dev but notice her words always blaming the woman not her husband. 1 st Meethi didn't know he was married, secondly she isn't the one who marri3d and promised to love and care for Anu till death does them apart.. that's Dev (he gets off the hook quite easy). Seeing her parents I bet Malini too initially must have thought that she n3eds to stay in a marriage despite major differences and fights with your spouse. With or without Imlie I don't think Adi and Malini as a married couple would last. Remember the fight they had when Anu sent a car for Malini... fight wouldn't have ended if it weren't for Imlie. Perhaps they wouldn't have dated if Nishant hasn't left. I heard in the regional one there is a memory loss track for Adi... even then he is attracted to Imlie not Malini....

Where Malini failed???

She got all opportunities and exposure to world by loving parents and there wealthy background. She was able to set up a career with not much effort .. even got education from foreign university… by simply stating she has not faced any problem other than her parents difference ….obviously the broken marriage have effected her . This is clearly reflected in her relationship with Adhithya. As some one said she is easily connect character… I feel it is true to some extent… I have seen many women who doesn’t want to take a little bit stress in there life even for negligible matters. She is some more interested in showing off the relationship… that means relations are all perfect … expect too much from the partner… here Malini too much expect time and right as a wife … but consciously cover it with her sweetness which is she used as a mask. Even single argument against her wish she cannot admit it fully… simply she expected a partner whom can fully controled by her. After marriage everything she done to adhithya’s family is to get her side … already she have an upper hand… she again try to coordinate it and all… differences between 2 DIL’s is shown by Nidhi’s character… when a frame come 2gether I doesn’t feel Nidhi as DIL … even in comparison scene if felt more inclined to Nidhi. (Nishant’s surprise gift day).

Malini’s yesterday episodes monologue reminded me teenage lovers who is worried about not wishing there partner at midnight and all… I mostly felt Malini’s view about marriage is all about celebrating important events in life 2gether and throwing parties and life will move on as simple with out any worries.

Every one may ask why then there is no problem occurred in 7 yrs … being best friend for years doesn’t gives any right on each other . There is always a line between… and Malini was mature enough not to turn a relationship into toxic. And then adhithya was also doesn’t analyse in depth of there relation … still he waited for 7 years … he take these much time to get to conclusion.

Some may be feel that due to her generous nature she selected a middle class guy like adhithya.. this also show her mentality to get upper hand she may thought by providing every thing he or his family will always obedient to her. And also the warmth of his family which she never experienced in her own family. But she never blended to herself into that family. By clear calculations of getting profit she get into relationship with adhithya and married him.

For her when her calculations doesn’t meet she was very much disappointed..

@bold what???

My dear, Dev is how a lot of men behave. They cheat and then lie and hide the truth.

Until shit hits the fan.

I personally know many men who are Dev.

Dev is very real.

DEV is very very real. Men cheat all the time. (Women too, but maybe not so much.) I speak from personal experience and from having lived in the real world. You know, among real people. For many decades.

Dev didn't reveal he was married, practically fell in love with another woman, slept with her, and then left. Back to his family. Didn't confess anything to his wife.

He probably has done this on other occasions, on other business trips.

Now tell me how is this character is not based in reality? Dev is the only character who is very real.

You don't have to like him. But he is very ordinary.

Not extra-ordinary, almost superhuman, like Imlie.

Meethi allowed her teenage daughter to leave with a perfect stranger after an illegal tribal ceremony. She let her go off a man! A stranger! Her own daughter. A young village girl.

I still can't believe she did that! And no one called her out for that. She was very lucky it was a man with morals, Any other man would have sold Imliie into slavery or prostitution in a heartbeat.

It is sad that you have had an experience of someone like Dev. I would like to sincerely apologise that you had to go through an experience like that, because honestly that sucks.

As for living in the real world, I would like to say 2 things. One, you do not know how the people Ithis forum are to call anyone "naive" without knowing them. They may be commenting on a lot of things, but they do so keeping in mind that this is fiction and has to be treated as one. Second, this show has never shown any character as extraordinary, each character has its flaws and positives, which sets this show apart from the others as per ITV standards. For example, while Imlie is shown to be happy and solve problems, she is also shown to be extremely insecure about her place in the world and Adi's life, as well as have abandonment issues. Adi is supposed to be a righteous patrakar, but has been lying to his family and unwittingly put 2 women in a situation that they do not deserve. While Malini is supposed to be an educated and mature woman, she is very insecure as well and dependent on Adi to define herself, making her do things that most self respecting women would not normally do. The T family is a unit and generally progressive, but has issues with things like divorce, kyunki log kya kahenge. Both Anu and Dev are extremely flawed and Anu's flaws are irredeemable, but she really loves her daughter and is willing to go to any lengths to ensure she is happy. Dev's character may look realistic, but that is defined by your version of reality.

I have been lucky in my life to not have to face someone like that and I assure you that there are good people like Imlie who look extraordinary, but are actually very humane and rooted in realism. Maybe some of the situations she is put it may seem out of this world (it is a fictional show afterall), but her strength, tenacity and approach towards life is something I have seen in many people around me as well, so yeah she is equally realistic to me as Dev's character is to you.

Hey I like your response. Very nice. Thank you!

The three leads all have flaws. They all could be real, - but I don't know anyone quite like them. Maybe Malini, but certainly not Aditiya or Imile.

But I do know men like Dev. Very real. All around us. (I still think Imlie is unreal. She could have been a real breakthrough character, but the writers chose the romantic way. It is not for me! I just can't watch that!)

But I like how Dev is handling the situation he has found himself in. He didn't think ever, that his "minor" transgression will come to face him, 19 years later! It is a very interesting storyline.

There was a news article recently that says because of DNA tests, a lot of people are discovering that their "dads" are not their biological fathers. Sometimes, it a family friend or a neighbor. Cheating in a marriage is not a new thing and far more common than people think.

I should know.
