I've usually been a silent reader of Sushpective, but since it's the 100th episode, and the second last week of Humsafars, I must comment! đ
Firstly, I would just like to say thank you, thank you and THANK YOU!! đ đ Sush and Shwetha. It's an absolute delight to read your posts every day and have a safe haven to take in all the action at my own pace. I love the collages, the quotes, the analysis. Really, everything is perfect and I mean it. đ I will miss these Sushpective segments just as much as the show! đ
The show is getting quite interesting. Despite the flaws, I like how they're stretching Sahir and Aarzoo's limits as characters. I also like how they've stayed true to Anam's character... she's matlabi even when begging Aarzoo to stop Sahir. Oh, Anam. đ
Granted, the fact that Aarzoo forgave Sahir so easily is slightly weird. He toyed around with her life a lot. He gave her lots of pain, lots of confusion and constantly doubted her motives. But I'd have to say, looking back, he also gave her an opportunity to grow, despite the many head-butts they've had throughout the last 5 months. Without him, it would have been absolutely back breaking for Aarzoo to fulfill all her vaade to the same Ammi who cried over the spilt milk that was Sarfaraz. Ammi's refusal to let go of the man who caused so much pain to her family also caused great insult to her daughters' faith in herself to financially and emotionally support her family... something which is such an unfathomable burden to begin with. It's really hard for me to choke out, but without Sahir doing what he did, Aarzoo wouldn't be as successful of a woman as she is today. (I would never doubt that she couldn't be a success without him, but he was a great helping hand as per the way things played out.) And perhaps neither would she have so much faith and trust in others if he wasn't there to save her time and time again... Even though a lot of it was staged, she never had anyone to really fall back on in general to start with. Sahir gave her that foundation of trust in his own sick way, but she has that foundation now... as well as someone to unleash her true feelings and thoughts to at any time, without having to worry about burdening them. It's so twisted, the way it all turned out, but I guess this is how Aarzoo grew to be who she is now đ So in the end, I guess to me, it really makes sense that she forgave him the way she did. He attempted to build up what he destroyed... something nobody, Sarfaraz nor Ammi ever bothered to do.
I'm looking forward to the final 6 episodes... As sad as I am about the show coming to a close, it's coming to a close better than I expected it would! đ
