So Yday after reading the forum comments and then sending some pleas on Twitter to the makers I decided to have a HS detox and skipped the episode, watching '2 Weeks notice' with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant instead 😆 ...interestingly I spent the whole movie imagining Harshad and Shivya in the roles and how nice it would have been for Arzoo to have been given the kind of strong, relatable characterisation that Sandra Bullock had. 😭
ANYWAYs, so this morning, decided I might aswell be positive! 👏
1) last week, which was meant to be there 'maha' week failed miserably. They added every trick in the book, a love triangle, a wedding, hate from the FL. But TRPs went to an all time low. This means not only did they fail to draw in new people, they also lost their core audience. They WILL need to re-think their strategy, but remember they will need time to unwind their position, so we can't expect to see changes for at least 1-2 weeks.
2) I think these guys do have until March end to turn it around. We have been told by Sony, Harshad and that marketing guy that the show isn't ending now. So I'm not going to worry about this anymore. With the serial they recently axed, they were publically talking about it weeks beforehand.
3) last week, Harshad and Sehbaan were laughing the sequence. I am pretty sure behind the scenes they must be giving their feedback. No actor wants his show axed and someone as talented as HC which has done such a phenomenal job as Sahir will surely be asking the makers to pull up their socks.
4) I can understand it is tough for the makers. They are under pressure to increase trps, they get comments from fans daily and they get frustrated about why people can't see their vision. It can be difficult to accept (similar to Arzoo) that your interpretation isn't connecting with the audience. So my advice is, take a deep breath, read the feedback and take it objectively.
So I am expecting changes from next week in Arzoo and the story. It could quite possibly be they are closing out lose threads to refocus on the love story.
