Junoonian - I do tend to lean towards what you said about Sahir's smile. But it was not clear what exactly his thoughts may be as no self-talk or retrospection provided ! We are left with smile, smirk and some form of expression suggesting he in some way had regret? 😕
That is why I said direction and editing need to step up to mark big time !!
Sush - I agree that smirk left with a bad taste but as I mentioned before, i saw few parts in those few seconds. Unfortunately direction and editing is not highlighting such expressions to give us more clear picture. Right now it's all on some degree - degree of genuine smile, degree of smirk and then may be degree of guilt. I get that they want to keep some ambiguity but sill !
As far as what you said of Sahir's reasons, I don't know if that's enough. I know spouse can really get under skin and have seen ppl do that, but to show Sahir so dark he is burning factory, playing with emotions, risking person's life he has very strong feelings for and to sum it risking his own life; I mean this guy has to be pushed greatly ! All we saw is him making promise to wife in loving manner and her accident. But his interaction with comatose wife is anything but loving. There is anger, agony and hatred when he goes to hospital. Also if his feelings for her is only loving, then how come he started falling for Aarzoo? I mean it wud be trul lame and lazy on CVs part if all they show is promise. Need to show some humiliation, betrayal, something more ! Also HC mentioned in one segment they haven't shown Sahir's journey from sayar to ruthless businessman. I wud hate if they simply show a protagonist is so dark without proper origins !
SO now wud be good time for them to start revealing parts of thing !
