Well let me start off with my appreciation for Saahir. His apology was much appreciated. And I felt even needed as I felt there were a few situations he could have handled better. I always believe a dark past is not an excuse for anything really. But his attempt to reach out to Arzoo really says something. If this was an out and out egotistic man he would have simply started ignoring Arzoo the way she was ignoring him or man-handled her or created a humiliating scene to catch her attention. But Saahir actually showed concern even in his possessiveness. He thought about what could be bothering her? His overwhelming concern for her and his appreciation for Arzoo the independent women, he is actually starting to remind me of someone I once use to look upto and admire. (Minus , hurting himself, anger fits, and split personality) Maybe before Zeenat happened he was almost exactly like this person.
The lines Arzoo uttered "Zindagi both der tak tedhi lakeer par chalt rahe. To tedhi lakeerer bhi seedhi lagne lagti hai." I felt this holds a signifigance. It is there to explain something more. Perhaps why she is drawn to Saahir. She herself has lead a very complex life "Zindagi both der tak tedhi lakeer par chalti rahe". So it explain why she is drawn a complex man like Saahir "Tedhi lakeerer bhi seedhi lagne lagti hai." Saahir looked at her with a bit admiration later on. As he too is a romanticist and artist who likes poetry. He appreciated her insightful thought. The admiration was evident on her face. Not only that but he related to the "Zindagi both der par tedhi lakeer tak chalti rahe."
About Arzoo demanding for equal rights in engagement. I completely second you. I said this in Jyoti's post. When he has shown so much rights on her to the point of even warning her own father to stay away from and has the privilege of knowing about her painful past than she should have the similar rights. It takes two to tango and the both must be equally engaged. Not only this but I feel and perhaps Arzoo too feels that if she knew about the past she could understand his constant mood swings and why he says one thing and actually wants another. After so many confusing encounters with him a girl would demand some answers in love or not.
He himself is so confused about what he feels and what he wants. Arzoo is no genious either she needs a bit more insight on him. Having that said I do feel that after such a sincere apology from Saahir so beautifully put forth his awesome choice of words (again he is shown to be a romanticist deep down.) I would have reiterated a few words of appreciation as well and let the moment stay positive. Though you know how much I appreciate and adore this modern cutebaaz Arzoo.
Now though I am starting to appreciate Saahir more and more each passing episode. Let me put forth what you seem to be hinting and what would bother me. If Saahir were to marry Arzoo due the business deal, that would mean to me that his ego, pride and promise he made to Zeenat hold more value to him than Arzoo or human emotion. A marriage is no joke. He decides to marry her once than Arzoo's life is either made or destroyed. I would be disappointed, really disappointed!
Awesome post Sush and beautiful collages Shweta!
