Asharfi scene - so, the lovely thing about this week is our leads started opening up to each other. We see it here when Sahir unashamedly gazes and holds Aarzoo's hand, unable to let go. In fact, it's Aarzoo that manages to snap out of it, pulls her hand away and then gets angry with him, hitting back with some great sarcastic comments on how he may think she burnt her hand on purpose and had the lights turned off just to enter his room. This was a great taunt. What's she is telling him is, look dude, who do you think you are fooling? I know exactly how you feel about me, don't you dare make all this my doing. Sahir's expression through this scene are great. Without any dialogue, you can see he willingly concedes to her. And btw, his love for Asharfi is definitely linked to his affections for Aarzoo...i am sure hanging out with Asharfi is like hanging out with Aarzoo but without all the guilt! :-)
Then of course he makes up for it all with the KA scene. Apologising for KA to the family and then a second subtle apology on his behalf to Aarzoo for his own behaviour earlier that day.
Welcome scene - what a great scene. We see a lot of things here - Sahir is being, well Sahir and doing the usual 'I don't want to talk to you' business. Aarzoo, sighs, rolls her eyes with a 'here we go again, when is this guy going to grow up??' look and takes control. As we all know, Sahir is a sucker for the fiery side of Aarzoo and turns into a mouse when she starts putting him in his box and obediently sits down. Now comes the interesting part. She opens up to him. Oh yes, she actually starts telling him what she is thinking. He is absorbing every single word as she explains how she can't understand his behaviour towards her and that the only plausible explanation is a childhood injury. And this is followed by Aarzoo providing Sahir with insight on herself and why he supporting her has been so important. At this point you can see, he completely melts for this girl falling deeper in love and admiration for his lady of Lucknow. As she leaves, he looks on at her and the man's been caught - hook, line and sinker! The words 'welcome' involuntarily roll off his tongue accompanied again with 'that look'. It really is over for him. There is no turning back now!
Red dress scene
Yikes, so our Arzoo now truly has the hots for psycho Chaudary and can't get enough of his 'pyar bhara' gazes. So when Zaki ( we'll come to him later) suggests a makeover, the lady of Lucknow, happily agrees.
When she enters the meeting, her eyes are on one person only. And luckily for her, the arrow has well and truly hit its target. Sahir is clean bowled and loses all senses. He stands, spellbound, once again gazing away for the world to see. And Aarzoo is loving it. She walks, he stares, she stands, he stares. Even when he comes back to his senses, he has completely lost his trail of thought, so much so, he has to hand over to the lovely Linda to complete the presentation. And you know what, he just keeps staring, so much so, even Aarzoo looks elsewhere in the end out of sheer embarrassment!
Suno scene
Aaah...another beautifully acted out scene courtesy of our talented leads. So a melancholy Aarzoo stands at the door of Sahirs room, waiting for permission to enter. This in itself must have been shocking for Sahir but he also notices her watery eyes. She puts down the coffee and starts leaving when Sahir says, we are so similar, reciting her words from yesterday, verbatim. He then gently prods for answers. He is genuinely concerned. You can see that with all that Aarzoo has been through this week, he wants to be there for her because, just like him, she doesn't share anything with anyone and thus lives a pretty lonely and burdened existence. And with all the feelings he has for her, there is no way he is going to throw her to the wolves, if that means his feelings for her get stronger, then fine, he'll deal with it. But he isn't going to leave her to fight alone. Then finally in the scene he tells her that he wants to spend time with Ashrafi. Again a very significant conversation from both sides. When Aarzoo initially says no because Ashrafi is her confidante he suggests that may be he can join in on the conversation, implying a big thing, he wants to be closer to her and wants her to share her feelings with him. Aarzoo very nicely replies saying that in that case she will happily bring Ashrafi whenever he wants because she doesn't share her feelings with anyone. He loves the response because again she confirms how similar they both actually are. And then the final line from Aarzoo playfully telling him, to be careful what he says because Ashrafi tells her everything.
So what's happened with the Zeenat equation? Has Sahir forgotten all the turmoil he went through last week resulting in his erratic behaviour with Aarzoo? No, he hasn't forgotten, not at all. But there is one thing greater than his own challenges and those are that of Aarzoo's. She has had a tough week - Anam's after her blood, KA is actively searching for opportunities to get her out of the house. Sarfaraz and Farah are not going to rest until they bring her down. Furthermore her relationship with her sister is on a downward spiral with little she can do about it. Sahir isn't aware of all the issues but similar to Aarzoo last week, he is aware that she is suffering and is ready to provide her with support wherever he can, no questions asked.
So that's my take on the week for our jodi.
One other person I'd like to give a special mention to is Zaki. If there wasn't already enough drama going on, we now have a love triangle to worry about. What's worse is that this guy is absolutely adorable and no one is going to want to see his heart break. Poor guy. 'Tera kya hoga kaaliya' ??? :-) ...I do feel bad for him but happy to have him back and if a love triangle means seeing Zaki's characterisation form a strong identity of his own and become an integral part of the storyline then bring it on!!
I'm also intrigued to see how the new Anam ploy plays out. Sahir discovering Sarfaraz is Aarzoo's father may backfire on Anam of course and just bring these guys closer. But Aarzoo is very guarded about this fact, and i am not sure if she will admit to her relationship with Sarfaraz in front of everyone.
