Zara ' real character, Arzoo - unreal

Some forum writers have expressed disappointment with Zara's reaction to Anam Chaudhary.

True, it may be disappointing, but I think she is behaving in a very real way. Anam is very glamorous, her job, her sense of style, her confidence. Any 20-year old with dreams of making in the world of fashion in the big city of Mumbai, and who comes from a smaller city, will be seduced by a person like Anam.

She will conveniently forget that this women was not very nice to her sister (but she is so glamorous!) and will ignore any advice from older family members. (oh these old women are so boring! What do they know about fashion and modeling etc etc I want to be like that amazing woman Anam who seems to have it all!! Sigh...)

A very normal reaction from a young girl like Zara.

Arzoo, however, continues to baffle me. She does not come across as a real character at all. There is a disconnect between her dreams of becoming a famous fashion designer and how she behaves.

Her mum makes the decision to take her back to Lucknow. I expected extreme disappointment on Arzoo's face, some soul searching, maybe an attempt to change her mom's decision. Her reaction- my mom never makes a wrong decision! Again unreal!

Then she attempts to tell Sahir, that she is an amazing designer and will one day be worth millions. I like the confidence, but there has been no evidence of her abilities or artistic leanings so far, to back up her claims.

Sahir's reaction should have been, "Hey if you are so good at fashion designing, how come none of it translates into your own sense of style? Why are you dressed like a bag lady most of the time?"

And I think here lies the biggest disconnect between Arzoo's character and a wanna-be fashion designer

Her character has no real sense of individuality, style or flair. No sketchpads, pencils etc in her apartment. No getting up at 3am to draw out a design when inspiration strikes her! No conversations with Alvria, Anam or KP about the clothes, fabrics, fashion, colors etc. No experimenting with her own looks. No conversation with her family about looks, clothes, hair, fashion.

Her designing dreams appear to exist in a vacuum.

Coming to ARZOO n Zara ...I feel Zara is very selfish ..real or not ...she Just cannot think beyond herself ..n THAT is not wht we are taught ..it comes as a trait to people n varies..also, I think this said trait doesn't go away so ..well Zara will always be a LIL immature n selfish to the core ..

I don't want to comment on arzoo..cos the show is still fresh and I want to see how the characters progresses n usually the FLs are shown to be a LIL too "goody two shoes With a heart of gold n no brain " 😆..n so I guess tht has become a SORT of said norm ..BUT I WANT her to be different ...

Yes, I agree with Arzoo's character looking unreal (even becoming a musibat magnet at times) But then Lucknow is not that chhota shehr that people havnt seen the glamour world at all. The girls carry latest mobiles (except Arzoo: waise who pays for their mobile bills?) Girls apply makeup and all, Arzoo travels in an auto, gives fight to the goons etc etc...these are signs of modernity. And if she intends to survive and grow in the ruthless world she has to be lot more professional. Unless she is totally unaware of the ruthlessness of the world around? again not possible. She has seen her factory get reduced to ashes, gone to the court for a stay order etc...

Zara basically is smitten by Anam's sense of dressing and her attitude.. I agree that girls of her age often behave in such a way, but even when she saw how Anam misbehaved and abused her elder sister, who has sacrificed everything for her and her happiness and for the family, she still has the wish to talk to the person? I would call such kids extremely ungrateful and a disgrace to the family. 😆Call me old fashioned but what is wrong remains wrong.. 😆

She made no attempt to clear her name regarding her arrest, with her boss Sahir. A straight -forward conversation with him regarding how she ended up in jail would be refreshing.

Was her boss ready to hear her words? Didn't she tell over and over again that she had been sent by the office?! We know Anam had sent her, but did she know that it wasn't her boss but Anam who asked her to do so? Had she ever in her life seen the face of a police station? And after such comments and stuffs hurled at her during the night stay do you think one could ever think logically?

Ahem! I think I am one of those unreal people too.. cause I have been respecting whatever my parents have been asking me to do since childhood 😆 .. I know what you must be thinking about me and I know where you are coming from.. just the same way like my peers and friends who keep on chiding me saying you cant even dayumn take up a decision 😆 Truthfully No I cant! For the similar reason Arzoo cant too! 😳 She uses her mother's name as her mother reared her up.. She loves her mother dearly and she without thinking of herself and her happiness and her wishes can sacrifice everything for her mother's sake.

When was she asked to show her talent? All she has been doing is running and carrying out samples.. when she did Sahir threw her envelope and Anam stole her work.. 😆

WOOW! 👏 I like that! I really really LIKE THAT! 👏 Just cause she wears shabby clothes she respects her mother's decision she speaks what her heart says so she has no connection with her talent of designing! 👏

By that equation Akshay Kumar should have been a chief and Arjun Kapoor eating burgers and drinking beer! 😲 Btw I was going to use the example of Mahatma Gandhi but khair why go into politics you know😆 😃

Fashion designers tend to be artistic, creative, with a flair for the unusual. Sometimes temperamental, but definitely not ordinary. Arzoo is not ordinary, but she does not have a fashion design temperament either.

She will make a good community organizer or human rights lawyer.

After criticizing her for more than a 600 words you still think so high of her?👏 a HUMAN RIGHT's LAWYER? 😲They have a dressing sense as far as I remember Waise main apke jagah hoti toh usse Aaya bulati.

👏 Well said!! You put your finger on it - especially the dressing like a bag lady bit, unless she's too too repressed to experiment on herself, hence the need to dress others.

I don't think she is realistic at all. If someone publically tried to humiliate my family the way Anam did to Arzoo they would be the last people I would idolize no matter how glamorous they were. Not to mention I really don't even find Anam that glamorous! I think the CVs meant to portray her as naive and ambitious but they forgot the fact that she was present when Anam had maligned her sister who early on in the show she was portrayed to be so close to.
