A Lighter Side of Things

1) The second Sahir saw Kurti Appa, he changed. Kehte hai na ke jaan mein jaan aayi? Sahir is usually so placid and carefully emotive, seemed to shed a part of himself the second Kurti Appa came into his room. He was conversing with a less tense air. "Ammi ne bakhri paal raki hai?" said with such incredulity and echoing perhaps the Sahir that Kurti Appa has known since he was a child. But even then, with the blatant respect Sahir holds for this woman, he does not and will never disobey his own mother. He didn't fuel Kurti Appas nautanki, and once again Sahir proved he has no interest in politics of any sort by neither engaging not enabling Kurti Appa's antics. He made his point clearly, he may not like Arzoo in the home but he will never disobey his mother. This is probably going to be an effective character trait to use against Sahir in the future. Which leads me to my second point.

2) Alvira thinking about what Sahir said, that he would never say no to her. Now how will she use this to get what she wants? Will we see a future where Alvira begs Sahir to consider Arzoo as his wife? Or a future where Alvira asks Sahir to give what he has, to Zaki? There are so MANY ways Alvira's character can fold, because as much as I like what I see of her, I don't completely trust her.

3) THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE (only because it made me VERY happy), when no one not even Alvira could find the words to take Arzoo's side, ZAKI DID. Zaki my darling flirtatious heart, you are too much. He gently reminded everyone who Arzoo is, a stark contrast to what Sahir had done the day before in trying to show her her aukad. Zaki put forth the right argument and sent Anam in a tizzy of frustration. Zaki's ways with actually finding the words to say out loud is impeccable! He has shown to be someone Arzoo can fall back on, and someone who will probably always take her side. He sees in her something Sahir can't at the moment, and Zaki's intuitions are on point. I hope this is a reoccurring instance, where Zaki stands by Arzoo and this prompts Sahir to look past her surface and into her heart. Because if it gets to the point where Zaki's blatant respect and admiration of Arzoo are increasingly noticeable to everyone, Sahir will be forced to think past the notion that Arzoo is merely someone Zaki is interested in. I hope it is through Zaki and Arzoo's friendship that forces Sahir to see Arzoo in a new light. And of course having Zaki always take Arzoo's side could also be a sore point for Sahir in the future when he does develop feelings for Arzoo. If written well, Sahir can be shown frustrated with how well Arzoo can relay her feelings to Zaki which could cause Sahir to start to shatter his walls to allow room for Arzoo. There are a myriad of possibilities!

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, although I truly believe the show could have done without OTT Kurti Appa, she's brought with her a tension that can only push our two not so lovebirds together!
