I too like arzoo ... i just hope they dont turn her into a never do wrong female lead ... and keep her real ... for instance in coming epi her getting sahir arrested ... i want her to realize she acted stupid even if with good intention ... i just want them to keep her real ... where she too face palms at her own mistakes ... arzoo is an inspiration from Kashaf's char ... and best thing about Kashaf was she came across as a very real character ... they never showed her as perfect ... and highlighted her mistakes and inner contradictions too ... with Indian shows they always try to show female leads as perfect chars that can never do wrong, which end up making them unreal. I fear that with arzoo too
About Alvira i will reserve my judgement ... she gives me mixed vibes ... is she really what she appears to be?

Sahir has given pauses many times in the show so far ... once after throwing arzoo ... then in rain scene it appeared as if he wanted to smile but checked himself ... dadi talking abt factory ... at the airport looking at them hurdle ... what do these pauses signify? Remorse i doubt it ... seeing a reflection of his old self ... may be! Dadi talking abt factory could have reminded him of some feeling he went through when he lost something hence the pause ... its difficult to say at the moment

I like Alvira atm, she seems like a woman grounded in her hometown, armed with a certain quiet power that makes people cautious with their words, even though she may seem gentle. Just look at how Rehman's wife was bumbling and stuttering in front of her, even though she's quite a sharp tongued lady. I hope they keep her positive, and also use her as a way of looking into Sahir's past because she seems to be the only one who understands.

Nads, I agree -- that Aarzoo desh line almost put me off...until I realised that they could just ask possibly use this to showcase her flaws. Till now she looks extremely perfect and positive; one show of stupidity really wouldn't hurt...it would just make her related. We all do silly things 😆

Great analysis, GG and Bheegi. The forum is a bit slow, but loving the posts here.

Alvira seems a smart woman, and hopefully not a negative one. Her dialogs do seem ominous. Its interesting to see that each character has multiple layers, that get peeled off as time progresses.

According to one of the IF articles, Sahir has a brother and sis-in law... the sis-in-law is probably a negative character. Maybe, Alvira is trying to balance the home and business by taking Arzoo under her wings. Let's see.

Alvira is not what she seems, I think. She leaves a sense of mystery behind her. She is not our Dilshad Momma for sure but then what she is??? Its a question to be answered (May be in future). Even Dilshad was posh, qualified and rich (Malkin of Dilshad Constructions) but the warmth and love her character had is not in Alvira's, she's too dry may be calculative even. The actor playing Alvira has always played strict & disciplinarian kind of character may be that's a reason she cannot be typical momma's of Gul. But then why cast her??? There must a reason to bring a serious face to the show. IDK if their is an answer to all this speculation, lets wait and watch. But may be we all are reading too much into the lines, only time will tell.

P.S.- Naumeedi Gunaah Hai, Its so close to every QHian's heart but Gul should stop showing parallels between her earlier shows with this one, otherwise viewers might lose interest.

It was a great episode...and the pre-cap was even better 😆
Serves Sahir right for blasting the factory.

Wonder what Arzoo will think when she finds out she had her boss arrested for suspicion of terrorism?

Thats what i am saying if that is shown as a silly thing i would be more than happy because that would make arzoo so much more real 😆

As for Alvira i agree with the poster above that she is not what she seems to be ... if you notice as a mom she does not have the warmth that mothers do ... Sahir is like this and she does not seem bothered by it ... she has accepted him the way he is and left him like that? As a mom it would take a lot to do that unless in some way she feels responsible for it and can't meet his eye so she decided to leave him in his own world

Hmm and about Alvira she is like a tigress ..quiet till u go near her and try to nudge her the wrong way .and she will rip u apart but .she won't harm ..unless n until dwelt with in a wrong way ...just and forthright in her own way but shrewd n Worldly wise for the ones for whom she is out of bounds ...

And I feel the chemistry between arzoo n sahir ...😳

Have a nice weekend both of u ..c u on Monday now 😛

PS cos of travelling my time to reply on ur posts is erratic ..but have done tht now ..do chk 😛

The question is who used it?

Hello all.. 🤗
Errm.. I'm late, but better late than never.. 😛

Okay, so I'm so glad that so many of you feel the same coz Alvira's character has definitely captured my interest..
She may not come across as the quintessential warm Mommy, seemed a bit aloof and distanced from Sahir.. Reasons-unknown as of now..
But for some reason, I see a lot of potential in the character (A la Moira Queen, anyone?)😉
Coz to me, she looked like a case of 'jo dikhta hai woh nazar nahi aata'.

Like someone mentioned, perhaps she or someone close to her could hold the key to what happened in Sahir's past to transform him into the man that he is today.. And hence the guilt..
Or maybe she has given up trying and like us, waits for the day when her son would step out of the shadows, he has locked himself up in.
Or is there something else like a Raaz buried somewhere in Lucknow's lanes? 🤔 The cliched step son and/or property issues doesn't seem likely here..
Then what is it?

Why Arzoo, she doesn't even know her that well to entrust her with the responsibility of taming/ reviving her lost son?
Is it just that she needs a bahuriya or is there more to it? I hope it's the latter.. 😉
I only wish that the makers focus well on this angle and use it to their best.

As for Daadi, I really like the elderly lady and the way she carries herself. She is wise, practical and is very grounded.
Her fears also seem realistic coz we all tend to do that sometimes.. (And in a Gul Khan's show, chaas bhi phook phookh kar peena padta hai, coz we've burnt our tongues waay too many times)
Too much of happiness and cheer all around, definitely not a good sign.. 😆

HC just keeps getting better and better with each day as SAC.. 👏 And I'm really starting to like Shivya too.. :)

Errm.. the dialogue.. I can hear both Dilshad and Zoya's voices in my head..
Was it Zoya who said it first, sometime when she had reached a dead end in her Abbu search.. Me thinks yes..
And Dilshad too said it, to Asad perhaps?
Or am I starting to lose my brain cells already!😆

Lovely post and some really insightful analyses.. loved them! 😃
