Silent princess, please check the two BC threads. There are people who have started liking that banner all of a sudden. They had voted for different entries then, why sudden change in taste.

@Bold... You stated above that now members will "obviously" feel pressurized to vote for Sano's banner, because she's one of the moderators. What I want to know is why? I thought banner contest were creative contest, to make the forum a bit active..and bring change.. But your post obviously says something else.. so if I had voted for banner 2/3/4 instead of 1 I would have been banned from HD forum.. cause I did the biggest crime of not voting forher banner? really.. its childish to think like this. Members votes on the banner they like, not on basis of who made it. Why you say something like this..is something I want to know.

If knowing the identity of the banner maker does not alter the fairness or the results of the contest, then how come names are withheld in the original contest? Why are all the entries kept anonymous? Must be some reason for it...I suppose because revealing the idenity of the maker hampers with making this a fair vote!

Maybe its just me. But once I know the names of the banner maker (especially since I know many of these people), I can't remain fair and unbiased. Why do the mods want me to make a biased selection? 😳

thats the reason why mods wrote all the names of banner makers so that you can be biased based on your fav so that it wonot be injustice 😳

and this is news to me that you are pressurized by MODs 😲

Appu, you pretty much said what I wanted to say...I'll probably just be rephrasing some things here...Few points I'd like to make.
- In the thread announcing the winner, the mod said that this was the winner chosen by the forum when that was clearly not the case. The winner had been solely chosen by the DT members who voted on all the entries. The claim that the forum had voted for the winner was clearly a misrepresentation of the truth.
- When the fairness of the selection process was questioned, the mods told us that because of cheating in the original voting round, the 4 banners with the most votes were put to another vote thru the DT section. This was again false on 2 levels. First because the screenshot clearly showed that the DT members voted on all the banners, not just the top 4. Secondly, if there was so much cheating in the original vote, how could the top 4 banners be selected in a fair manner (from what the mods said, the cheating was not just limited to MID's, it also involved group voting, plotting, etc)- so clearly n these circumstances, how can we expect the top 4 to be selected fairly. Obviously this is all moot at this point because we all know that there were never really top 4 from the initial voting round and that was another misrepresentaion of the truth.
- My question is if everything was done fair and square and in accordance with the rules of IF, then why did the truth and the whole truth take so long to come out??? It was only after the mods were questioned repeatedly by us, that little bits of the truth slowly started tricking out.
- Again, if the mods are so confident that everything was done fairly and in accordance with the rules, why did they agree to this re-vote???
- After looking at these repeated misrepresentations of truth, any rational person would question the legitamacy and integrity of the process!!
Even if we were to ignore all these previous misrepresenations of the truth, lets deal with the current situation: So the mods for some reason (even though they say the original winner was selected fairly) decided to have a re-voting. Now lets look at the unfairness of this new voting thread:
- As it stands now, the voting process has been compromised becauses members are aware of the identity of one of the banner creators. And this creator is a mod of the forum. Obviously people will now feel pressurized to vote for the banner that has been created by the mod! This is no longer a level playing field and certain banner(s) now have an unfair advantage towards winning. This is wholly unfair to all the other banners in the running that have no fair shot at winning anymore!
I don't know if the mod's will heed our requests for a fair and transparent voting process, but if the current unfair voting process is allowed to stand, the banner which will be selected will not have earned its place to be put up in our forum. It will only be a reminder to many on this forum of a very unfair, unjust, and biased contest.
Appu, is there any way this thread can be made available to all forums in IF? I think there are issues beyond this forum that need to be addressed by the general forum and its management.- the most important being the rule that allows a mod/organizer to participate in the contest that they themselves are running/organizing and overseeing. This is especially bothersome when the voting is taking place in a closed off place like the DT section where there are no checks and balances or oversight. This rule needs to be changed.

ur right im sure is turning in his grave, becous his princeiples are beeing used in a classic case of sour gsrape😆

Dia! For heaven's sake don't make that emoticon after such comment. I hate it when people make that after a sarcastic remark.
Preethi di 😲 when did she say that. Stop redding too much between lines. May be it was someone else who was or its just her former interactions with them which is making her judgemental.
Either you don't understand what is said half the time or you are just picking up without reason 😳

FALTU! please mind this,
Appu , the TM, had voted for Sano's entry and the entry no. 24 which is just a morph of entry 23 which is in the second voting round.

Dia I.e. Walden had not voted at all

I had voted forSano's and entry 23 which are in the second round.

Duo there is no reason as to why we would experience sour grapes. Can't help if some people can't look beyond groupism

Good point Saumya!

I didn't even vote in the original contest...I looked at all the entries...thought all of them were great! I could care less which entry won and so I didn't vote. People are completely missing the point here. The point is not about which entry wins, the point it that it should win thru a fair, just, and transparent process.

If u really didn't care much about which banner won the contest then why this hue and cry? As far as i know, if u take the first round of voting into consideration without counting the votes of newbies then sano's banner got max votes. Im sure it looks pretty enough and isnt this fair? Plus the DT members who have no issue of groupism too voted for it. Now what else do u want? The voting process? If u are willing to make new rules of voting and banner contests on the behalf of mods..then go ahead 😆

Okay then tell me about it..after casting ur votes u guys suddenly realized that the voting process isn't fair enough and this sudden enlightenment made u all withdraw ur votes? 😆 And that groupism thing came after some ppl were complaining yesterday that both the leads did not get equal importance in sano's banner and hence this quest for justice 😃
