Ekta Kapoor's extensive hunt to cast the best of actors in her upcoming show based on the novel of Manju Kapur, Custody for Star Plus continues… A certain section of the media had reported that Anupriya Kapoor has been approached to play the lead role. Also, talks are on with Iqbal Khan too.
We now hear that Anupriya Kapoor is out of contention now, and that the makers have considered the Marathi film actress Priya Bapat for the lead role. Along with Iqbal, Vikas Manaktala who bagged all the fame and limelight for the role of Hooda in SAB TV's popular show Left Right Left has also been short listed to essay the male lead.
In addition to this, senior actresses Navneet Nishan and Neena Kulkarni have been approached to play pivotal roles.
We tried calling Vikas Manaktala but could not get through to him.
Neena Kulkarni on her part said, "Yes, I am in talks for the show. But nothing is finalized at the moment."
Our efforts to get in touch with Navneet Nishan failed.
We hear that Ekta Kapoor and Star Plus are aiming to launch the show sometime in March 2013.
