At night Maahi was sitting silently on the bed when Indira entered into the room.Indira asked,"Kya hua beta?Itni raat ho gayi abhi tak soyi kyu nehi?"Maahi replied,"Mujhe neend nehi aa rahi hai mummy.Jab bhi aakhe bandh karti hu na tab vo sab kuch phir se dikhta hai."Indira understood,so she sat beside her and made her sit on her lap and said,"Main jaanti hu beta,tu uswaqt bohot dar gayi thi.Jab maine suna tha ke tere saath aisa hua.Pata hai mummy tere bina ek pal bhi nehi reh sakti,tu to meri jaan hai."She raine kisses on her face and said,"Achcha chalo abhi so jaao."Maahi nodded her head.Indira said,"Thik hai,to main aaj apni gudiya ko uski pasand ki lori sunaati hu uske baad gudiya ko achche se neend aa jaayegi."Saying she started singing the lori.Maahi slowly slowly fall asleep.Indira made her lie down on the bed and kissed on her forehead and said,"So gayi meri nanhi rajkumari.Agar aaj tujhe sach mein kuch ho jaata to main sach keh rahi hu main aaj apni jaan de deti.Vo aadmi jo koi bhi hai,mere liye vo bhagwaan hai.Main kal hi usse milne jaaungi."She then slept hugging her.

In the hotel suite,in his bedroom,Sameer suddenly jumped up from the bed.He was full covered with sweat.He too watches the same view which Maahi watches.He drank a full glass of water and then wiping his sweat with the towel,said,"Jab bhi aakhe bandh kar raha hu mujhe baar baar yehi sapna aa raha hai.Kyu???Aaj sach mein kahi agar main ek second bhi late ho jaata usey kheechne mein toNehi nehiusey kuch nehi hoga."He closed his eyes and brushed away his thoughts and said,"What the hell Sam!Ye kya sab soch raha hai tu?Tujhe to bachche bilkul pasand nehi hai phir ek anjaan bachchi ko lekar tu itna concern kaise ho sakta hai,aur kyu ho raha hai???Just cool down and relax!"He sprinkled water on his face and returned to his bed.

Next morning,while making Maahi ready for school,Indira asked,"Beta vo tere rumaalwaale uncle ka naam kya hai?"Maahi tried to remember,but failed.So she said,"Bhul gayi mummy suna to tha par mere liye vo monster uncle hai."Indira asked,"Monster uncle???Ye kaisa naam hai?"She replied,"Unhone mujhse kaha ke main monster ki naani hu to maine bhi unko monster uncle naam de diya."Indira asked,"Hua kya hai?"Maahi then remembered that if she discloses the fact of meeting him on the construction site and the incident of playing tricks on him,she will definitely be punished,so she said,"Usdin raaste mein mile the,unki gaari kharaab ho gayi aur maine unko address bata diya phir jab maine unka rumaal waapas kiya na to unhone mujhe bola ke usdin raaste par main jaise unke saath behave kar rahi thi na puri monster ki naani lag rahi thi.Yehi vajah hai."Indira made a face which clearly sowed that she was not properly convinced,but she had no time to investigate it.She said,"Ab hotel ka naam jaanke bhi koi faayda nehi hai.Achcha agar tu unhe phir kabhi mile na to mere taraf se thank you bol dena."Maahi nodded her head.Indira said,"Tujhe pata hai na parso se annual function shuru honewaale hai,to sabse pehle tera hi performance hai.Tu achche se rehearsel kar rahi hai na?"Maahi said,"Ha ha mummy,fikar mat karo is baar bhi sab mujhe hi dekhenge."Indira made a sound kiss on her forehead and said,"Ha ha meri heroine aur sun aaj achche se dekh kar rasta paar karna,bilkul idhar udhar dhyan mat dena.Ab jaao."Maahi did her breakfast,took her lunch and then left for school.

While returning from school,Maahi again visited the construction site.This time,the watchmen didn't stop her.Sameer,on seeing her asked,"Kya baat hai?Aaj ro nehi rahi ho?"She made a face and asked,"Aaj kyu roungi?"He replied,"Kal to ro ro kar meri haalat kharaab kar diya tha."Maahi said,"Vo to kal main dar gayi thi isliye royi aur main apne liye nehi apni mummy ke liye ro rahi thi."He asked,"Matlab?"She replied,"Meri mummy ka yaha mere alaava koi nehi hai.Vo mere bina reh hi nehi sakti.Agar mujhe kal kuch ho jaata to mummy bhi mar jaati.Isliye main apni mummy ke baare mein soch soch ke ro rahi thi."He felt good on hearing this.He asked,"Tum apni mummy se itna pyar karti ho?"She replied,"Main mummy aur papa dono se bohot bohot bohot pyar karti hu par papa ko to maine kabhi dekha nehi isiliye meri mummy mere liye mummy aur papa dono hai.Isliye mummy se bhi main papa ke hisse waala pyar bhi karti hu."He was about to ask her something more when his manager came and confirmed him of his tickets to Delhi.Maahi asked,"Aap parso ja rahe ho?"Sameer replied,"Ha.Mujhe bhi to apni ma ke paas waapas jaana hai."She asked,"Aap waapas kabhi nehi aaoge?"He replied,"Pata nehi.Kaam hoga to aaunga."Maahi,somewhere was sad.Though she met only few times with him,but still somewhere she liked him.She bid bye and left.

Next day,in the school,Maahi had a fight with Naina as she told something very bad about her father.As a result,Naina's mother came in the school and created a scene.Indira tried to calm her down.Naina's mother said to Indira,"Dekhiye madam,aap apni beti ko kahiye meri beti se dur rehne ko.Aise koi laraai jhagra karta hai kya?"Maahi said,"Mujhe bhi koi shaukh nehi hai is chipkali se baat karne ka.Par ye hamesha mere papa ke khilaaf ulta seedha bolti rehti hai."Indira grinned,"Maahi muh bandh rakkho apna."Indira said,"Dekhiye bachche hai aur aise bachcho mein jhagre to hote hi rehte hai please main iske taraf se maafi maangti hu."Maahi said,"Aap maafi mat mango mummy,maine kuch galat nehi kiya hai."Indira again stopped her and grinned,"Maahi abhi bohot maar paregi."Naina's mother taunted,"Zara dekho to isko apni ma ki bhi baat nehi sunti hai vaise hogi kyu nehi,bina baap ki bachchiya to aise hi hote hai.Pucho to kehti hai papa yaha nehi rehte.Kya pata baap zinda bhi hai ya nehi ya fir kya pata kisi naajaayaz rishte ka beej."Indira stared at her disgustingly but could not reply anything.At last,the principal interrupted and said,"Dekhiye ye school hai,agar aapko koi shikaayat hai aap mere office mein aakar boliye is tarah se sabke saamne tamaasha banaane ka koi matlab nehi hota.Vaise bhi aap jo Maahi ko bol rahi hai Naina bhi koi dudh ki dhuli nehi hai.Uska pura class jaanta hai vo kaisi larki hai.Dusre ko kuch bhi bolne se pehle apni beti ko thori tameez sikhaiye ke dusro ke parents ke baare mein ulti seedhi baatein na kare."Naina's mother said,"Meri beti ne kuch galat nehi bola hai aur vaise bhi aise anchahe rishte ka phal to aisa hi hota hai.Pata nehi kiska ganda khoon hai aur pata nehi kaise sanskaar mile hai."Saying she left with Naina.Indira too left from there with Maahi.During their way to home,she didn't utter a single word.On reaching home also she didn't say anything.When Maahi returned after taking her dinner,she saw Indira crying bitterly.Maahi felt very bad.She came to Indira and said,"Mummy Iam sorry mummy,par main kya karti vo aapke aur papa ke baare mein hamesha bura bura bolti hai.Mujhe achcha nehi lagta hai.Isliye maine usko bola."Indira pulled her in her arms and said,"Nehi mera bachcha tujhe sorry bolne ki koi zarurat nehi hai.Main jaanti hu bina samjhe meri Maahi koi kaam nehi karti.Galti teri nehi hai beta meri hai,mere kismat ki hai.Mere vajah se tujhe ye sab kuch jhelna par raha hai."Maahi said,"Nehi mummy,aap dunia ki best mummy ho.Kisike paas aisi mummy nehi hai tabhi to sab jalte hai.Choro bhul jaao mummy sab kuch.Vo sab paagal hai."Indira giggled and said,"Badmaash apni ma ko dilaasa deti hai??Jaao washroom se hokar aao phir so jaana."Maahi said,"Mera thora homework baaki hai."Indira said,"Ok aakar kar lena."Maahi left from there,but didn't go to washroom.She peeped at Indira from outside and said to herself,"Bas ab bohot ho gaya mummy ko nehi bataana hai vo bhale hi na bataaye par main is baar papa ko dhundh kar hi rahungi chahe iske liye mujhe kuch bhi karna pare.Main papa ko waapas zarur laaungi mummy,zarur laaungi."She made a determined face.

Almost the whole night she kept on thinking what to do and how to do but she didn't find any way out.At last she did find a way,but that way was too much dangerous but it was nothing in comparison to the pain which she saw in her mother's eyes.She understood that ger father is the solution of all their problems and so she decided to bring him back.Next morning,Indira left very early for school.As soon as she left,Maahi wrote a letter in Indira's name and put it under Indira's pillow.She took out her bag,put two-three clothes and Indira's photo inside,herself got dressed up and went towards the God's idol in their room.She said to God,in her mind,"Main jaanti hu bhagwaanji main jo kar rahi hu vo thik nehi hai.Isse mummy ko bohot dukh hoga,par abhi mere paas iske alava koi aur option nehi hai.Mujhe agar papa ko laana hai to mujhe aisa karna hi hoga.Iam sorry par jabtak main n aau waapas tabtak aapko meri mummy ka khayaal rakhna hoga.I know aap rakkhenge."She took blessings of God and left her room.When she was leaving the home,Joan saw her and asked,"Arey Maahi aaj to tumhaara function hai na?Tum tayyar hokar nehi ja raha hai?"Maahi's heart bumped loudly,but still she said,"Uh-mother vo mainuhha main vaha jaakar ekbaar mein tayaar ho jaaungi varna raaste mein mera costume ganda ho jaayega na,isiliye."Joan said,"Oh achcha thik hai.Best of luck."Maahi gave a broad smile and replied,"Thank you mother."Saying she left.

She went to the hotel where Sameer was boarding.She knew his flight time.The moment she reached there,she saw Sameer was sitting in the car for going to the airport.She called him,"Monster Uncle!"Sameer looked at her and was surprised.He came to her and asked,"Maahi??What are you doing here?"She bluntly lied,"Vo mujhe na airport ke nazdik ek jagah par jaana tha.Main apni friend ke saath jaane waali thi par vo aayi nehi phir yaha se jaate waqt mujhe khayaal aaya ke aap bhi to ja rahe hai na to kya aap mujhe wahatak chor denge please?"Sameer believed her,"Ok par tumhaari mummy kaha hai?"She again lied,"Mummy wahipar mera wait kar rahi hai."Sameer agreed and picked her up.While on the way,he said,"Jaha utarna hai bol dena."Maahi nodded her head.After that,she didn't speak during the whole way and when the car stopped in front of the airport,Sameer asked,"Tumhe kaha jana tha tumne bola nehi?"She made a guilt driven face and replied,"Vo maine aapse jhut bola hai mujhe kahi nehi jaana tha.Mujhe yehi aana tha."Sameer exclaimed,"What!!!"Maahi grabbed Sameer's hand and pleaded,"Dekhiye,mujhe apne papa se milna bohot zaruri hai isiliye mujhe unhe dhundhne Delhi jaana hai.Isliye main ghar bina bataaye bhaag kar aayi hu.Meri mummy mujhe kuch bataati nehi aur isiliye mere paas ab koi aur option nehi hai.Please mujhe apne saath lekar chaliye."Sameer again exclaimed,"Are you crazy???Piddi bhar ki larki akele Delhi jaayegi aur tumhe ye lagta hai main tumhe apne saath lekar jaaunga aur phir tumhaari mummy mujhpar case kar de???Tum hosh mein to ho?"Maahi replied,"Main jaanti hu ye bohot dangerous hai aur dariye mat mummy ko aapke baare mein kuch nehi pata hai.Meri mummy kal phir royi thi please mujhe le chaliye.Please please please."Sameer got down from the car and said,"Impossible!"Maahi was so desperate and was so out of any idea that she at last picked up the twisted way.She looked here and there and saw that some police were standing there.She had an idea.She said,"Agar aap mujhe apne saath nehi lekar gaye toto"She too got down from the car and said,"To main un policewaalo ko bol dungi ke aapne mera kidnap kiya hai."Sameer was stunned on hearing that and stopped with a jerk.He turned and asked,"Kya???"Maahi replied,"Agar aap mujhe apne saath nehi lekar gaye to main sach mein aisa hi karungi."Sameer came towards her and said,"Shakal se to kitni masoom ho par niyat"Maahi said,"Aapko jo kehna hai kehlo,mujhe Delhi jaana hi hai kisi bhi keemat mein."Sameer asked,"Tumhe kya lagta hai tum jhut bologi aur main tume dar jaaunga??Aur tumhe kya lagta hai ke police tumhare baato ka yakeen karegi?"Maahi said,"Mujhe apne acting pe pura bharosa hai.Abhi agar aap Delhi jaana chahte hai to mujhe apne saath le jaaiye,varna"Sameer was totally shocked by her audacity.He was getting late,so without any other option left in hand,he agreed to take her in the condition that after reaching Delhi,he will not be liable if anything happens to Maahi and she agreed.Sameer went to the emergency ticket counter and asked for one executive class ticket.He asked Maahi,"Apna naam bolo."She replied,"Maahi."He again asked,"Pura naam?"She said,"Maahi Diwan."On hearing her sirname,Sameer left spellbound.He uttered,"Diwan???"He asked,"Diwan kiska sirname hai?"She replied,"Mere papa ka."He became more confused.He said to himself in his mind,"Diwan???Iska bhi sirname Diwan hai???Ye tu kya soch raha hai Sam.Delhi mein bohot saare Diwan honge aur kya pata abhi vo shaayad Delhi mein rehta bhi na ho."Sameer purchased Maahi's tickets and said to her,"Chalo."She thanked him and said,"Aap bohot sweet ho."Sameer didn't reply but only made a disgusted look.While they were in the lounge,he asked,"Tumhe dar nehi lag raha hai?"She replied,"Nehi.Aap ho na.I trust you."Sameer nodded his head and became quiet as he had no mood to talk.After sometime,the flight was announced and they boarded for the flight.
