Mahesh

My sincerest apologies for making a separate thread to address your point about not looking at Indira's perspective at today's "withdraw case" debacle. I felt that it was too important a point and deserved having a thread of its own
You say :
Indu never proclaimed not to arrest Munna for such an outrage and outburst at her. She only has sought some time for the happy moments to sink in. While withdrawing the case was just a retaliation for Sumer stubborness not to heed for her plea. It was just a small blackmail by Indu in her typical Hilter style to force Sumer to listen to her and she knows very well his weakness that he can't join back until the case is not solved.
I think people need to clear their mind first and watch before jumping to conclusions and start bashing indira right, left, and center.
If you start viewing everything keeping Rishi in mind, then it looks like Indu is at fault no matter what she does. It was CVs fault to give a break to Rishi character and not Indu's fault, so stop venting this frustration over Indira now.

So lets look at it from Indira's perspective. She has two responsibilities - to Sharmas and To Rishi as his wife

A daughter is born to Munna.

Consideration 1 : Niece - she will "tainted" if her father is arrested and brought in for questioning on the day of her birth.
  • Will 12 hrs make a difference to the poor soul? Will the "taint" be any less if he is brought in 12 or 24 or 36 hrs later?
  • Will she, like poor Ishaan, not have her father be arrested at all important events of their lives?
  • Her tragedy she was born to Munna Sharma

Consideration 2 : Sharmas - They deserve happiness and time to celebrate the new birth
  • Munna will do bhangra, then go off with friends to get roaring drunk and party the night away. Just as he has done million times over. Ofcourse he will be in top shape tomorrow for questioning
  • Kutumb will be oh so very appreciative of her her son being questioned for Rishi. She will bless Sumer for giving them 12 hrs (yeah Right! And earth is flat, not round)
  • ditto Sunaina

Consideration 3 : Rishi
  • Has been tortured, almost killed, kidnapped again and likely being tortured at this very moment
  • Probably has not been fed anything and is suffering the pain of his wounds
  • Threat to life is great!

So lets be honest and not pussy foot around.

It is not a matter of Indu's perspective, or Rishi's

It is matter of Sharmas.

Sharmas, their indulgence, their addictions etc all take precedence over Rishi's life
That Indira put their indulgences first, is a shame on her
The fact that Indira enables their immoral and corrupt existence is a blight on her character, blights that she seems to be hell bent on accumulating as fast as posssible

If Munna had done his run-of-the-mill robbery / thugery and the victim had brought in police (as they have done in the past), would Indira have stood in the way? She had not in the past.

If Munna was accused of kidnapping and almost murdering someone and that some's family brought police over to bring Munna for interrogation, would Indira have stood in the way? Old Inditra would not have. New one would not have brains or power to do so

This new Indira did with Rishi because she has power. Rishi is her husband. He is disposable! she filed the "case" and she can withdraw it. Screw Rishi and his life.

Mahesh - you are asking us to forget that Indira is a wife and has some responsibilities towards her husband's life. That cannot happen

Imagine when Mandira was raped and Sameer had to be arrested

Imagine the hellfire missiles that Indira would have rained on Rishi's pathetic little head if he had tried to delay the arrest for any issue.

Rishi would have been dead in Indira's eyes

And here people are saying we are whinging

Had Indira done something for her own self, it would have been understandable. But she did it for Sharmas who are suspected of attempting to kill her husband. I still cannot believe what I saw

Many days ago (when only first clues of this debacle were being laid) I made a thread posing a question.

If roles were reversed and Rishi was doing to Indira what Indira is doing to Rishi, would we have accepted it? what is in our own psyche that is making us respond so different to Rishi's plight at the hands of his wife and in-laws versus had Indira suffered at Diwan's and Rishi's hand .https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/hitler-didi/2968849/indira-killed-by-her-inlaws

I remembered this post today.

Situation today is so much more stark today, and despair equally higher.

How we are reacting today speaks to our blindspots, our own prejudices.

And it cannot be brushed off as "oh it is just a piece of fiction" Fiction is just a tool used by mankind to have it look itself in the mirror and ask tough questions

when Sameer was/is liked and loved by few, despite being a psychopath and a sexual harasser (he had not yet turned a rapist but writing was on the wall), general consensus was we judge fiction with the same moral lens as we do our real lives

same with Indira

when she was a exemplary (if flawed) character, we loved her. She was fierce, had amazing moral core, had brains, did not fall for gimmicks in life. Oh how we all loved her.

But sadly, there is very little left of that woman in today's Indira, heck this month's Indira. It is very hard to say "love her" when none of actions have been acceptable, forget about admirable

If we had a spouse like Indira who did what Indira did today, most of us would be heading off to divorce court, and no one would blame us!

It does not matter if Rishi comes back or not. The whole plot is lost. The last 6 months have been brutally massacred

What is left of their love story? What is left of Indira we loved? Will we forget what Indira did or did not do?

Hypothetical : Even if turns out that Rishi got himself kidnapped for money, hired thugs to play this game of pretending to beat him, kill him etc...even if it turns out true, Indira would still be severely damaged goods. Rishi would be bad, but Indira would only be ever so slightly better, but not much.

It is because Rishi would have been doing what was with mal-intent

Whereas Indira had no excuse. She was operating out of her value system and that did not come up to scratch

This is just hypothetical.

I really don't want Rishi to be with Indira anymore. Move on kid. Carry a torch for her in your heart, if you want. But start your own life and leave her to the likes of Sharmas and this naked copper. She is bad news.

Don't even bother with revenge bit. Just leave and don't look back!

and I am planning to do so too!

very well said...I have only few words to say.
Wht is more troubling for me tht this new indira values more of her family happiness than someone's life whom she claims to love..it is not abt in which perspective we see the case ,justice shld be done..indira alwys considered rishi as 'taken for granted',her property, not as one who might have some emotional value.it was seen before whn mandira questioned abt her marriage nd she immidiatly postponed the marriage not a fraction of thought abt rishi thnking tht rishi wd support her irrespective of his own judgement.
P.S I still don't thnk tht munna has done ths but here indira's gesture was important in which indira failed completely. he has some plan to sabotage the marriage nd he wore a red coloured dress on tht day..so ths arrest is for interrogatting him for rishi's whereabout

Oh I forgot an all important perspective - Rishi is a toe-rag to be used and discarded on garbage heap

Another perspective - Don't judge me by the rules I judge others with.

It is expected and required of Rishi to sacrifice all for my family and me. But not vice versa

If imagine if MUNNA have decided to killed RISHI that night, will INDIRA not regret for her whole life?

or if in this situation is RISHI, will INDIRA ever forgive RISHI for his act?

I still cant forget how he was brutally beaten by MUNNA and SAMEER on his wedding day and INDIRA sit there and do nothing.

Jem , you just said Everything.

There is nothing left by which Indira's character can be redeemed.

Bravo Post👏
